We stayed in one of the lovely shepherd huts. Very cosy with all the mod cons. Really clean and tidy and supplied with all the items you could need (although only 1 tea bag 🙁 ) meaning we only needed our clothes and toiletries. When I first looked at the bedroom area I was a bit worried as I'm 6 ft 2, but needn't have worried as it was a good fit.||Would recommend using the Kensai BBQ, it was a first for me, but well worth the effort and the extra pennies!||The location is very tranquil and the landscaping has been very carefully managed so that it is very accessible whilst still maintaining the wilderness feel to allow for nature to flourish. |We will be back

A fabulous retreat for our family. for non traditional ‘campers’ this was right up our street! Our son loved his little secret cubby bedroom! Brilliant, efficient and flexible communication and a true little English garden oasis. We will be back!

Wow 😎, our experience staying in Pyefleet, one of the two safari tents offered by Mersea Barns Glamping, was nothing short of perfection. The fantastic weather helped of course. 😊|The facilities in and outside the tent are second to none.|Seeing our grandchildren playing safely in the surrounding file was a joy.||The location of Mersea Barns is perfect for visiting the beach, crabbing on the West Mersea jetty and enjoying the many great eateries. ( Mersea Barns cafe is onsite )

We stayed in the double shepherds hut , we were very impressed with the space and was lovely to have the seating area to look across the fields . |Was lovely and warm with the wood burner alight . |Bed was very comfortable and we slept well .|The whole place was clean and well equipped .|Outside seating area was nice too .|Towels and face flannels lovely and soft .|Would have been nice to have had a mirror other than the small magnifying mirror in the bath room .|Thankfully we had lovely sunny weather , if it had been raining hard, it would not have been very nice having to wheel our cases and belongings across the field.|All in all a lovely stay .

What a beautiful place to stay, the safari tent was so lovely, warm and cosy! Definitely be returning! Perfect 😍 place to stay if you are thinking of dining at Stark, great communication before our stay. The shop and cafe on site were super too.

The paperwork is a bit over the top , but don’t let that put you off , because once you get there the experience is wonderful !! The shepherds hut is cleverly designed and very comfortable , the shop is well stocked with interesting things , and the Cafe is well worth visiting . All in all , an exemplary glamping experience .

We stayed in samphire,and everything was spotlessly clean.All the facilities inside the hut were very good,including the shower,but could do with a shelf in the shower cubicle to soap and shampoo on whilst showering.Overall an excellent couple of days,and are even thinking of returning in August with the rest of my family,and restaurant Stark is worth a visit if your into fine dining.Would recommend to anyone for a nice break

All round excellent experience. The tent is close in quality and comfort to a nice lodge, but the front canvas awning and spacious setting gives the feeling of space and peace that camping affords. The tent is clean and spacious, with excellent bathroom and cooking amenities and a choice of places to relax and enjoy eating together. I went with 4 adults, and we had plenty of room. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. The tent has so many thoughtful touches to create home from home. I would have really enjoyed bringing my kids when they were little as the tent is very child friendly The site co-exists with a lovely cafe and shop with very high quality food and friendly, efficient staff. For those preferring to self cater, Mersea Co-op is a ten minute drive- this is a large branch with a really wide choice. Perfect for enjoying swimming, sailing, walking, paddleboarding and crabbing on this lovely friendly island.
