We came out of the season, and it was very quiet. Perfect for our escape with the dog. We just wanted a relaxing, no fuss holiday. The caravan is plenty big enough and clean. The staff are very attentive. Someone opposite was mowing their grass and cliped a stone. The stone smashed our door. They sent someone to make it safe straight away.
Be sad to leave as I'll miss the beautiful beach and nature reserve just on the doorstep.

An excellent, good value for your money, quiet getaway break in April. Heating is fine, shower is hot, beds comfortable, though a little narrow. Kitchen and lounge are spacious and work well. Site is kept spotless. We also had excellent sunny weather which made things even more splendid.

We had the Oyster cottage on the Away Resort site, there was 6 of us, two Grand parents, Mum and 3 boy's, 5 year old twins and a 3 year old. Plus points, the hot tub was good, there was a small garden if you have a dog it's handy, all of the staff that we met were friendly and helpful, the pool didn't look much, but they only let a few people at a time and the boy's loved it.|Not so good. They could do with supplying a vacuum cleaner|Only 2 loo rolls and no roll holders|Chipped crockery|We found the sofa's uncomfortable when watching tv in the evening.|The bin at the back of the Muddy Duck was always overflowing, even first thing in the morning, with rubbish being blown across the park||Tips|We went at the end of May and had lots of flies and ants, so take fly spray and ant gel, we spoke to reception about this and we were told that they have had a fly problem for a couple of weeks, after the Farmer had done his fields and that site ant gel was going to be put down. although it wasn't while we were there, maybe it should be put down earlier in the year,||If you use the oven, take out the grill pan at the top, otherwise it blocks the heat, then the oven is fine

This was our second stay at an Away Resorts site and our second time in a 'Burst of Blue' caravan, which we previously enjoyed at Hayling Island (though that larger version included a dishwasher, which this one unfortunately did not).

The location is excellent, right next to Cudmore Grove Country Park with its fantastic playground and lovely trails. Our 'Burst of Blue' caravan benefited from a nice tall ceiling, making it feel far more spacious than other superior/luxury caravans we've been in. We'd always opt for this style when available now. The kitchen was also well-stocked with utensils, and when we found a hairdryer missing, reception rectified this quickly. The pool was a real highlight and probably our favourite among the resort parks we've visited. Although small and unattended by lifeguards, it was clean, had enough lounge chairs, and we loved the natural light flooding in from the complete glass walls and roofing.

However, the site itself was disappointingly boring. Compared to other parks we've experienced, this one was definitely the smallest in terms of entertainment options. There were only some arrangements on weekends, no dedicated kids' activities, and bingo was also restricted to weekends. The main entertainment venue felt more like a very large caravan than a proper building. The on-site playground is tiny and rather pointless, though this is somewhat offset by the excellent Cudmore playground just a 10-minute walk away. Cleanliness was also an issue in our caravan. It appeared the previous visitors had dogs, as there was dog hair everywhere – on the terrace, in the rooms, and we even unfortunately found some making its way into our food. We also found dirty tissues left behind.

The most significant letdown, and the primary reason we can't rate our stay higher, was the almost complete lack of recycling facilities. At Hayling Island, we were provided with multiple bins in the caravan for different types of recycling. Here we were not, however we still made an effort to separate our waste in different bags, only to find the collection areas only accepted 'general waste' or 'glass jars' (there are signs for mixed recycling, but no actual containers to put them in). Being forced to throw plastic milk jugs, cardboard, and food waste into one big pile felt like a practice that were left decades ago. For such a lovely natural island setting around, this is a total abysmal failure on the park's part.

Despite having a lovely long stay in many respects, particularly enjoying the pool and the 'Burst of Blue' accommodation, the serious shortcomings in cleanliness and especially the shocking lack of environmental responsibility regarding waste recycling mean we cannot give a higher rating. It's a real shame, as the potential is there.

We really enjoyed our stay this Easter, the weather was amazing, pool lovely and warm, facilities had everying you could wish for, and nothing was too much trouble for lovely Alex and the staff of the muddy duck. Highly recommend.
