An outstanding dining experience.

First off food - a great array of skills and styles on show, all of the dishes we had had great depth of flavour. It’s very rare not to have a signal negative comment about. It came to £50 a head but we did have 4 courses and 4 drinks.

Service - very attentive and friendly, food came out quickly but didn’t feel rushed at all. Also being a small restaurant it was great that the chef/owner also served and cleared and took time to interact with the restaurant.

Atmosphere - a bright & fun restaurant which definitely shows off the interesting and quirky personalities of the owners. It was also very intimate (as a small restaurant) and we had great conversations with surrounding tables.

Dined here for breakfast and dinner on our short break in Holt. We had a full breakfast and avocado on toast washed down with good coffee. Highlight was the black pudding which I always leave normally but this was wonderful apparently sourced from the local butchers. Dinner was the same, great quality ingredients used to create tasty dishes. Could not fault and with very reasonable prices. Lovely friendly staff and would not hesitate to come back here the next time we visit Holt.

Should have shared this back in September but wow I am so glad I met Michael! What an honest, hard working, lovely, professional person. He catered for our wedding, serving canopies and a 3 course meal for 150 guests in September 2024 and let us tailor our own menu together exactly how we wanted. He also brought all the staff for the day but worked with us to keep things within budget all the time. All of the staff, headed by Charlotte, were amazing on the day and everyone who attended the wedding commented on how attentive and kind they were, which made the whole day a massive success. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were generous which is something that was important to us. Every dietary requirement was dealt with seamlessly. Overall it was an amazing experience and we feel very lucky to have had Michael, Charlotte and their team as part of our wedding day! They really were fantastic in every way. We also enjoyed a lovely meal at Michael’s Bistro in Holt ahead of the wedding which was absolutely delicious and great service! Thanks so much Michael & Charlotte - so happy we met you and still talk about how good it was all the time! X

Very cute little ( busy) diner style restaurant tucked away in Holt. You could easily miss it. Had lunch here, beef Tacos and a pulled pork baguette. Very good value, very tasty. Comfy seating & Dog friendly. NB toilet is a locked cubical just outside the restaurant. Definitely coming back.

The wife and I popped into Holt and saw this bistro and decided to grab some brunch.
We were warmly welcomed by a lovely young woman and were given menus and shown to our seats.
The bistro is very stylishly decorated and classy without being snobby.
The wife ordered smashed avocado on toast plus a latte while I went for the full English and a decaf tea.
The drinks were very nice (tasted like proper Tea).
When the breakfast arrived we both tucked in and what a delight it was. The wife loved hers and my breakfast was one of the best I have ever enjoyed.
The mushrooms were flavoursome, the sausage was not your normal fayre and the bacon actually tasted like bacon.
We both said how much we enjoyed it and as the service was so wonderful left a small tip.
If you ever find yourself in Holt you would be missing out on a real treat if you didn’t give Michael’s bistro a visit.
A huge thank you to Michael and the staff. It was a pleasure to dine with you.

A Fabulous Bijou restaurant which lives up to its reputation. Wonderful crew, service with a smile, and very helpful. The food is deliciously served with Love and care. White bait, super fresh prawn skewers, confit duck leg, plumb sauce special was superb. With an added bonus of free parking after 6pm. We spotted some cakes which we will have to have next visit. Discovered this place by chance and ended up dining here twice during our three day break in Holt. We were very lucky to get in at 5.30 and the only availability was outside - which suited us. Excellent, meticulously prepared food served in a helpful and friendly manner. Imaginative variety of food. All reasonably priced.
