We had high hopes for this visit but we were somewhat disappointed/let down.

We booked 2 pitches and asked to be next to each other which was no problem. One family in our party arrived at 12pm to be told there had been a problem and someone was still on one of our pitches. They promised it would be sorted in the next 2 hrs before the second family arrived. Arriving at 2:30pm after 4 hours of towing a caravan and trying to entertain a toddler, we were told there was nowhere to pitch and there was nothing they could do.

Rather than own it and be apologetic and try to help and reassure, the manager sought to heap blame on the people on the pitch and say it wasn’t his fault and was quite rude when I tried to air my disappointment at the situation.

In the end we had to settle on a different pitch for need of tea and bedtime for the little one. This then lead to other people being told they also had to wait for a pitch as it had a knock on effect. It was all a very disappointing start.

The good points.

Toilet/shower blocks clean and warm.
Pitch sizes decent.
Site location excellent.
Village pub excellent.

Bad points.

Showers on 5 minute timer, no family room so 5 minutes isn’t long enough for 2 people to shower.
Water pressure not great, so you’re pushed if you’re a lady washing hair.
When people went home after the bank holiday, the demand for hot water dropped so you had to run the showers to get the water to come through hot, which then dented your 5 minute timer!! Showers were just left running down the drains in the men’s because people were done in 2 minutes! All a bit daft when the website says they’re designed to save water.
WiFi is pointless.

Overall not a bad site but could be so much better.
Customer service needs improving, wouldn’t go back in a rush but not a definite no no.

As you can see from the owners response, this is the type of person you are dealing with. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It’s your site, so it’s your responsibility to check people are leaving when they are supposed to.

The people that were still on our pitch told us they asked if they could move there and you allowed it, mistakingly thinking they were going home Friday not Saturday. So it is your fault pal.

We’re not the only people to leave negative comments, it’s an honest review, and clearly from your responses to other people’s negative comments you can’t take any criticism.

Your website claims you like people to return. Clearly not.

This is a camper van/camp site, so there are no rooms to review. A beautiful place with showers and toilet facilities, fresh drinking water, electric hook up. Only 5-10 minutes to the local pub and shops. 10-15 minutes to the beach and shops in Robin Hood Bay. Only stayed for 2 nights camping, but would definitely go back.

Just back from a short break in a caravan on the site.
No issues whatsoever
The site is within walking distance for late 60s year old to go to Robin Hood Bay and a short drive to Whitby.
Will certainly stay again if in the area.

They saved our holiday! After a disastrous first 2 nights of 4 with a dodgy new tent which could not handle the slightest gust of wind we were on the verge of going home. They kindly upgraded us for the remaining 2 nights to a pod with 1 night free as a gesture. They didn't have to do this as it wasn't their fault. We have subsequently exchanged the tent at Go Outdoors. However, the site is great and the walk to Robin Hoods Bay is minimal. A great place to visit and they go the extra mile if you have any problems. We were so grateful to the team ai Middlewood Farm. A++ ! Andrew & Julie.

Camped here with my partner for 1 night. Was visiting friends in robinhoods bay for some beers.

Booking was easy over the phone.
Check in was easy
Site felt secure due to key coded barrier
Toilets and showers nice and clean
Short walk to local pubs and the front.
Motercycle friendly - but remember your stand puck as its grass parking if tenting.
Generous size pitches for tent
Nice and quiet site with fantastic view!

Spent 3 nights in our campervan at Middlewood Farm Holiday Park. Ideal location for exploring Robin Hoods Bay and the Cleveland Way coastal path.
Short walk directly from the site down to RHB through some beautiful fields and woodland.
Easy to join the coastal path to Ravenscar and/or the cinder trail that runs from Scarborough to Whitby.
Dog friendly site with clean facilities.

We went in early march and had the site pretty much to ourselves. I can imagine this will get very busy in the summer months. Reasonably gentle walk down into the bay and very nice showers/ facilities. Recommend for access to robin hoods bay

Great site. We arrived late and they stayed open to check us in. Facilities were clean and plentiful to use. Fridge available for you to use, what's not to like?
