Having advertised for Mother’s Day afternoon teas and booked for a large group of 9, one would expect the hotel to be prepared for us. Upon arrival at our booked time we were told ‘you’re early’ (we were absolutely on time), ‘you’ll have to wait. We haven’t set up yet, we’ve been busy’. Not a great welcome and not our fault they were busy! Judging by the uncleared tables visible in the restaurant you may have been but don’t take the bookings if you can’t cope? We were put in a room with inadequate seating (stools? Not comfortable!) and waited for a very overpriced, underwhelming afternoon tea. The sandwiches were warm and displayed poorly. Little flavour. We were expected to share 1 small pot of cream between at least 3 for the dry scones and had to ask for enough tea to wash it down. A very poor experience for a family reuniting from various parts of the country to give my elderly mum a special afternoon. We shan’t return.

We dropped in for tea on a day outing to Salisbury, we were met with a warm greeting and invited to a table on the new terrace with sumptuous new furniture. Victoria took our order, she was helpful and suggested she asked chef for a selection of cakes.
The tea was hot and delicious served in a generous pot, black coffee strong and rich.
We lingered in the sunshine and Victoria checked we had everything we needed. So attentive and friendly.
A most enjoyable afternoon, thank you.

What a fantastic hotel! We had a long power cut at home, I needed somewhere to work and have multiple Teams calls with our own clients. Elaine Falconer & Vikoria Bende looked after me extremely well, finding a quiet table with great wifi, sockets and everything I needed to do a day's work. Lovely lunch too! Thank you so much and I'll definitely be back.

From the moment we arrived at Milford Hall, we were made to feel most welcome by Angie, nothing was too much trouble. Angie has a wealth of local knowledge and works extremely hard, she is an asset to the hotel. Victoria was very helpful as were other members of the team. Thank you for making our visit to Salisbury so special.

We came for an afternoon not knowing what to expect from a hotel that we had never been to before. |Well ,what a wonderful surprise, we were made to feel extremely welcome by staff and the General Manager from the outset.|The afternoon tea was exceptional, with excellent tea choices from local suppliers Birchnells and my wife loved the coffee too.|Nothing was to much trouble and we would definitely recommend a visit and will be returning ourselves in the near future

The positives: The bed was comfortable, and we appreciated the complimentary still and sparkling bottled water in room. ||Shower pressure and temperature were good and there was antifog mirror in the bathroom!||The lobby bar had a great ambiance, with great choice of background music that created a chilled atmosphere.||The negatives (-):||Unfortunately, several aspects did not meet expectations. The room’s sound insulation was poor, as we could hear and feel people passing by in the corridor. ||Cleanliness could be improved, and we were disappointed that slippers were not provided, which is a standard amenity in hotels. ||The rooms felt quite basic for a new Voco-branded property. ||Our dining experience was underwhelming—the menu was very limited, and we were only offered a small selection instead of the full menu we had seen online. Vegan and vegetarian options were expected in a hotel restaurant menu. |The food quality felt cheap and uninspiring, and the service was bad, quite slow and unfriendly.| It was evident that the staff lacked proper training to deliver the level of service expected, especially the bossy waitress. ||The service was bad and we didn't even order a dessert. It's a pity, as this hotel has great potential.|

Nice hotel, well positioned just a short walk to centre. Some great staff, big shout out for Angie at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Caitlin on reception was always a smiley person ready to help. Would recommend if in the area. Try the Italian restaurant on the same road, Grilado's, great menu and service.
