We were very lucky to get the last room here on Saturday as we left it late to book . We stayed for one night as we wanted to cycle the Flitch way which is a former railway line from Braintree to Bishops Stortford. And at Rayne it is very easy to pick the track up in Station Rd where there is a car park and the station is the Booking hall cafe. It is very Popular with cyclists and walkers. The Mill House is set in beautiful grounds. and offers luxury accomdation. We were made very welcome by Janette and Richard. Who can not do enough for you to make your stay excellent in every way.they have good knowledge of the area. |The twin room we had was a good size. Nice views out over the Gardens. Nicely decorated to a high standard. Beautiful luxury bedding good quality duvets pillows and towels. We enjoyed a very good nights sleep. |There are tea and coffee making facilities , free WIFI and a TV in the bedroom . |The bathroom had a shower . There were miniature toiletries provided. I have never seen such a high standard of cleaning in a bathroom before it was just spotless. |Breakfast was exceptionally good. Cereals, fruit juice yogurt and a full English cooked breakfast. Really lovely quality bacon and sausage. Lots of toast. |Fantastic stay. You must stay here to experience how a bed and breakfast should be run. Will stay again when back in the area. This is better than any hotel stay. |||||

We enjoyed our two night stay at Mill House. Janette and Richard are warm, accommodating and hospitable hosts .On our journey there we had encountered motorway problems which had made us much later arriving than we had anticipated. Janette and Richard were understanding and made us very welcome.The rooms are cosy, comfortable and clean with one of the most efficient showers I have ever encountered in a b&b. The breakfasts were tasty and plentiful, and readily adapted to vegetarian when requested. I have no hesitation in recommending Mill House.

Has a great stay here. Stairs to the room need to be negotiated, but the rooms are clean and modern. Shower is great, pressure is more than adequate. Stayed there as we were going to a birthday party literally up the road. Couldn't have asked for a better location. Very nice and pleasant owners. Stories and experiences for hours, may be days, if you let her tell them...The owner doesn't have credit card facilities, but once you've paid the deposit, just do a bank transfer of the balance. Much easier and everyone is happy. Quiet and serene. Great place. Breakfasts are good too.

Stayed here for one night as was going to a local wedding. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. They were also very helpful and told us a reliable taxi company we could use for travelling to and from the Mill House. The rooms were clean, fresh and cosy, with the added bonus of an en-suite. They provided you with everything that you needed. They also give you a wide variety for breakfast and make you feel at home.

Hotels? Pah. This B&B is a great example of how good accommodation should be. Nice comfortable room, good shower, lovely breakfast and good location is expected and delivered. But what makes Mill House stand out is the warmth of welcome, the "nothing is too much trouble" attitude and the feeling that you are amongst friends. Totally recommended especially to those of you who might be thinking of a hotel instead. Do yourself a favour. Go to Mill House instead.

We recently stayed at The Mill House whilst attending a wedding nearby. We have a 10 month old baby and although the owners admitted that they weren't very set up for babies they were happy to accommodate us. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and the owners couldn't have done more for us. I would certainly recommend this accommodation.

Upon arrival I was made very welcome. My Room was clean and tidy with a decent shower. No bath. Rayne was a 5 minute walk up the road with 2 pubs an Indian and an Italian restaurant. Nice breakfast in the morning. All in all very nice place to stay.

The owners are friendly, accommodating and made us feel very welcome. The rooms were comfy and spacious, and were meticulously clean. Had a very restful nights sleep, a delicious breakfast and were fortunate enough to see some of the animals and the beautiful grounds. Overall, would definitely recommend!
