Booked two rooms, both had fabulous views of the river, were spacious and super comfortable.
Had a superb meal in the restaurant, we loved our starters and mains. Great service from Ava and the team.
We'll definitely be back. Thank you.

Fantastic Sunday Lunch..no quibbles..some might say "on the expensive side", but worth every penny. Quality meat and veg. Good flavours and good beer and served with a smile by the three or four members of staff that I encountered.
I came last year, as a well known pub down river would not give me the option to have any form of potato that wasn't garlic flavoured. Not good enough, in my opinion, but I'm glad I walked away and the Mill gave me that option. Wouldn't go anywhere else, now.

Great place to stay
Stayed in a queen room well proportioned and super comfy bed. Better pillows than my own
Fridge in room milk provided too and a coffee machine.
Clean and quiet.
Lovely location
Range of meals priced slightly above average but fresh and tasty
Friendly service
Air conditioning in room - I prefer to open a window but just personal choice

Spent the night here in a river view king room, and had dinner in the restaurant. Staff all very friendly and helpful - good service. Room was a little smaller than expected, but comfortable enough - no armchair, although outside seating. Limited drawer space. Dinner was fine, but we were advised on sitting down that there was a 40 minute wait for food. When the food arrived, it was good but not exceptional. Breakfast was excellent. Overall, this is a good quality hostelry in an attractive location with free parking. That said, the room charge felt excessive for what was on offer.

I came back to this city for the first time in 20 years since I graduated, and this place still left the same lasting impression. The riverside seating and the cozy indoor atmosphere brought back so many memories. It feels just like the old days. The food was delicious, the beer selection was great, and the prices were reasonable. If I visit this city again, this place will definitely be on my list.

We had a great stay at the Mill on the Exe, two nights B&B in a River View room plus dinner on both nights. Our room was lovely, comfortable and with everything you need for a short stay. The pub, restaurant and garden areas are lovely with plenty of tables in a variety of settings. Food was good and the service was welcoming, friendly and efficient. There's not much information on their website about guest parking, but it turns out there's a dedicated space on the other side of the pub from the main car park (which can get very busy) with enough spaces for all the rooms, the sign is just not that obvious from the main road.

Went for dinner here and had a meal that exceeded my expectations.
Great setting for pre-dinner drinks by the river.
The menu was varied and reasonably priced. The quality of the food was very good. There's also a good wine list, albeit not extensive.
The service was also first rate. The server was a 4th year student, she knew the menu well , was attentive and friendly.
Overall, a very enjoyable experience.

Edited to respond to the owners reply.
A lovely pub with great food and an excellent setting.
However I do have a problem with their coffee (cappuccino), which is why I'm only giving two stars.
There is one price for coffee (cappuccino), so you'd imagine that all coffees (cappuccino), are the same size.
This is not the case, they have small cups and large, and which cup your coffee (cappuccino) comes in is a matter of luck.
When you've paid the same as another customer who got a large cup, but end up with a small, for a cappuccino, that's not really fair.
I don't understand why they even have small cups as there is no size options when ordering coffee.
I understand now from your reply that small cups are for flat whites, so maybe make your staff aware of this, so they don't serve other types of coffee in the wrong cup.

Mill on the Exe replied
"Hi Rich

Thank you for bringing it to our attention.
All coffees apart of flat white are served in same size of cup. Flat white is served in smaller cup as it is stronger coffee ( double espresso with less foamed milk).

Best wishes,

The Team at Mill on the Exe"

So not true !!!
I've ordered a cappuccino from you many times and usually get the large cup but on two occasions have been served a cappuccino in a small cup.
In fact last time this happened we showed the staff the cup my cappuccino was served in and they confirmed I'd been given the wrong cup and apologised.
We also asked a member of staff if all of your coffees are served in the same size cup and they said yes.
