1st time visit with family and very impressed with level of service. Arrived at 9pm for food and were made to feel welcome right from the start. Staff very attentive to any allergies or concerns. Was Daughter's 18th and Son's Graduation and both enjoyed the whole evening. Food was well presented and well worth the price.

What a lovely place to celebrate a special occasion, or in our case two!! This isn't a place I could afford to go often, but for something special, it was spot on!
The staff were welcoming and attentive. I can't fault anything.
Not having to book was great plus for us on the evening we went.
The food was lovely, and I can't recommend the Eton mess enough!!!!
Thank you to all the staff who made our families' special day finish on a perfect note.

Outstanding service and food!
4 of us popped in for lunch and really enjoyed the whole experience.
The grounds were lovely to look around too, with the biggest tree we had ever seen!
Highly recommend a visit!

I have not had pleasure of an overnight stay but it's the first choice for my family to go to celebrate birthdays and other worthy occasions. The service is great no need to book but you can book Mr GS for a party of 14 I think. We have been many times and never had any complaints food is always superb and it's always busy. I like the fact that although the surrounding and building are very grand but no matter the reason for your visit you don't feel out of place as people wear anything from suits and pretty dresses to shirts and flipflops

The hotel is set in lovely manicured garden with great outside areas. The interior is very nice and well decorated. That’s really where the positive ends. We took our 2 dogs along with us where they first asked us to pay a supplement of £35 per dog per night on top of the £200 plus per night for the room. I would like to know why and what you get for this charge. Because we had dogs we were allocated a room on the ground floor which must have been the smallest and worst room in the hotel. Very small and poorly decorated and very old fashioned with a tiny little corner wardrobe nothing like the images on the website. There was no ventilation apart from a fan.our dogs really struggled in the heat of the room and became very restless throughout the night. We have taken our dogs to other dog friendly hotels and always had a room with an outside garden area, had I been told that we did not have a small outside area I wouldn’t have booked the room. I think a £35 charge per night for each dog is very excessive, on booking this was reduced to £50 per night for the 2 dogs but I cannot see where this is justified. We were not able to open windows as it was ground floor so not secure. We also had the EV chargers, car park, staff area, bin store and dirty laundry within 15 foot of the room. To add to that pleasure we had deliveries in the morning and staff cars leaving after their shifts at night. The heat in the room was uncontrollable there was also a constant knocking noise coming from somewhere which made it impossible to settle quickly for a comfortable night sleep as it was so irritating. The bathroom was a good size but clearly not using strong enough chemicals to kill off the mould and mildew. The tiling was shocking who ever did it must have spent to long in the bar. The table in the bathroom had not been cleaned it was very dusty underneath and there was also cobwebs and a spider in the corner of the room. We dined in the hotel on the second night to be greeted with dogs not allowed inside so had to eat outside not an issue as the weather was ok. We only opted for a simple meal as we had eaten in the day but expected something special based on the write up on the website but was disappointed as it was nothing special just basic and poorly presented. The ordering system is based on DIY, write down what you want find someone to give your order to and wait, the male member of staff on was very good and polite and did check to see if we are okay. Road noise was evident all the time so not a nice peaceful time. Breakfast was good but apart from tea and coffee being offered on arrival it was all DIY, when you consider the breakfast was £27 per person I would have expected some form of table service. The staff are polite just not very attentive at breakfast. On checking out I was not asked if everything was satisfactory with my stay which implies you are not really interested on feedback negative or positive. To sum it up not a great experience all credit to the website content but in future try to be factual. If the management decide to read this some advice. Don’t state your dog friendly just say you accept dogs but you will pay dearly and have a sub standard room. Tell people your food is edible but nothing special.

Food was lovely and we were very full! But the servers weren't very attentive, except from one manager looking guy that came and asked if everything was okay. Lovely restaurant though!

Had lunch there with friends. The food and service was top notch as is the location. If it's nice you can even sit outside on the patio and enjoy the surroundings. Great value just remember there is no reservations for lunch so it's get there early if you want your favourite seat...
