What a special place this is!
We stayed in the chalet with our two kids and it was amazing. While we stayed we saw deer, hares, red squirrels, lots of garden birds and birds of prey.
My favorite moment in nature while we were there was while I was sitting on the door step looking into the woods three squirrels were blethering to each other and chasing each other through the trees. They didn't seam bothered about me watching them at all.
As for the chalet, it is wonderful. It has a lovely open kitchen, lounge, dining room that is wonderful to be in. The kitchen part of it is very small but it is so pretty and open to the rest of the living space that I didn't mind in the slightest it is also really well stocked with equipment which is great. The best thing about the chalet is that it is such a social space. A great way to have a very connecting family holiday.
There is also I lovely wood burning stove that heats the main living space brilliantly, some good films and some board games and books so it is even really nice on a rainy day.
There is a fun path that takes you onto the spey side way at the back of the Chalet. Just go to the corner of the garden, follow the dirt track passed the caravan, pallet stile, log walk way, house, clothes whirliegig, and chicken coop then you will be on your way. From there you can walk through the woods around nethy, you can get the the local shops without having to travel on the road and in the other direction you can go and see the stunning Loch Garten, Boat of Garten, Aviemore and so much more (depending on how far you want to walk/cycle) the start of the path is a bit tricky to take a bike along but not imposible and we'll worth it.
Final your host. Sylvia is so lovely and helpful you really couldn't ask for any better. What a lovely family. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!!!! đ
