Morrisons - Todmorden

I love Morrisons but this must rate as the frendliest branch i have visited. Always well stocked, cheerful staff, easy to access. The highlight for me however are the Cafe staff. I don't know how they serve so quickly with so few staff. They deserve an award for managing the queue on a Saturday brunch time, but they're always do upbeat and cheerful. If Morrisons management team read this, please award or reward the Cafe Team at this branch.

On the whole Morrisons stores give me the Willies and this one although not the worst, is no exception. I don't know how or why, but the fresh meat manages to look like garish roadkill and is almost enough to turn me vegetarian. Store layout drives me bananas too.. Frustrating to the point where going without seems a promising option.

Really I wouldn't shop here if it was my local supermarket. If I had transport I'd drive however far I needed to and if not I'd be booking my weekly delivery from tesco or sainsbury.

Despite being a relatively modern store it feels old and dirty and badly lit and by comparison makes Aldi stores seem chic despite thor dated 70s decor style.

On a value note I don't think I could afford to shop in Morrisons, the products and brands I prefer are always 10 - 20% more expensive , and when a weekly shop costs what it is post covid I'd have to do some serious economising to routinely shop in Morrisons.

Called in 9am one Thursday morning to quickly buy a few items, how wrong I was ! Absolute chaos!! Staff restocking the shelves, stocking trolleys everywhere causing blockages in the virtually all the aisles. The main aisle at the top of the store was completely blocked on both sides by staff. What made it worse the staff filling the shelves were very unhelpful, no consideration for the customers or offers to help remove their trolleys blocking the aisles. I asked one staff member who was blocking the main aisle where a certain item was, told me it was down a certain aisle but still didn't offer to remove her trolley so that i could then get past ! I finally managed to get to the aisle and said item wasn't their. I then asked another staff member filling the freezer units, he pointed to where the items where but again a large tall stocking trolley was in the way. Again staff member made no attempt to move the trolley so that i could access the items, just continued stocking his frozen fish fingers !! I then removed his trolley to get to the items and I then heard him made a comment. I asked him what he said, you didn't need to do that he said !! If he didnt want me to move his said precious trolley why wasn't he more helpful and move it for me rather than making inappropriate remarks behind my back. I asked him for his name so that i could raise the matter with the manager, he refused to provide his name. Why doesn't Morrisons stock its shelves when closed ? to avoid inconvenience to customers and possibly a H&S risk considering the amount of trolleys strewn everywhere? and why are the staff so inconsiderate and unhelpful at this store ?
Adios, i will be using Aldi and Lidl now in Todmorden but Morrisons need to change the culture at this store before most local residents decide to go to their competitors.

Excellent staff in your caffe ,polite ,good service BUT your coffee machine is rubbish ,either it’s on a go slow or not working ,like today . When it’s on a go slow there’s always an extensive queue which puts more pressure on your already busy staff particularly at weekends .
It would be nice to see a coffee machine that works or even two ,as it used to be , also it’s obvious your losing revenue when the machine is out of action ,now that’s a thought !

Well stocked and clean but staff unfriendly and not welcoming which is such a shame. A smile and a how are you makes such a difference and costs nothing.

Nice but small morrisons. Lovely to see a fishmonger and delicatessen still in a supermarket. Nice produce. Lovely fresh cooked bread. Self service tills and manned tills available. Small cafe inside with toilets. Good parking and good disabled access

It was shocking they had no fresh bakery goods ie sausage rolls or pies and the sweet tubes they are advertising on the television were not what it seemed there were not the price advertised on television very disappointed customer
