We stayed one night at Moxy York and had a great experience. The highlight was definitely Alana, who was super helpful throughout our stay. She made sure our rooms were just right and even quickly sorted out an AC issue—really appreciated her friendly and efficient service.

The hotel itself is in a great location, perfect for exploring the city. Stylish, comfortable, and welcoming. Would definitely stay again!

I was extremely impressed with the staff and facilities at the Moxy. The room was comfortable, smart and clean. The common areas were trendy and well-maintained. The buffet breakfast was excellent. I was only there for one night midweek but I could imagine it would be a nice atmosphere in the bar at a weekend. But, for me, the most impressive thing was that the staff very kindly reserved some space for me and my colleagues to meet up for an hour in the morning at no extra cost. I would highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure visits.

My sister and I really enjoyed our four night stay. Tasty reasonably priced breakfast with a good choice, clean, quirky, modern and a bit different too. Great staff - helpful and always willing to help. Great location, close to The Shambles, York Minster and bus stops to the railway station.
Could do with a couple of drawers in rooms and we didn't need or use the big chair.

Not the best hotel. We had to live out of our suitcases because there was not storage whatsoever for your clothes. There was 2 hooks on the wall for your coat or jacket then a short metal rod sticking out of the wall with 4 coat hangers on it. No shelves or drawers for storing your underwear, t shirts etc. had to leave them in our suitcases and take them out as and when needed. Rooms are not very big so there wasn't much free space to store your suitcases. Our breakfast went cold very quickly because the breakfast station area wasn't very warm. Don't bother with the free complimentary cocktail. Don't think it had seen any alcohol at all. I was really disappointed with this hotel. It looks nice but really disappointed. On the good side it was only a 5 minute walk to the centre and it was clean.

The Moxy brand is probably not designed for old buffers like me who don't like live music to compete with when you're signing in but who do like a proper wardrobe in their room and an iron. ||This apart, it's a nice hotel and for clarity, it literally next door to my organisation's office, which gets it the booking!||The staff were very pleasant and the rooms, although somewhat austere are nevertheless nicely laid out and tasteful - ie it's not a Travelodge. Breakfast was good although more of a self service affair.||Overall though, it's fine and was good value.

Heard a lot about this place so thought I’d give it a go whilst in York. Great location and easy to find, you walk in and it has a really great feel almost “too kool for skool” as that misspelt funny quote goes. Room was great as was checkin.||However||Having a few drink with colleagues was a different thing, the gent serving us, just didn’t seem bothered, £2 for a bag of quavers is ridiculous and the toilets, whilst funky absolutely stinking urine!

The staff were very friendly, our room was cleaned to a high standard with a really comfy bed. Great bar area, with nice ambiance and great drink selection available. Friendly step on check in and bar area throughout our stay. Breakfast was excellent with a great selection all to a high standard. Would stay again

Well the experience was great from start to finish. Check in and check out spot on!! And the kept bags for 6 of us, so we could spend time in yours without dragging cases around. Relaxed vibe would definitely return.|Great choice of food from sweet to savoury, cooked and continental and endless tea coffee etc|Complimentary gin ouch for us all on arrival|Comfy beds, modern family room well appointed bathroom could not fault anything
