The Mozart House is a five minute walk from Halifax station. My room, named the Strauss Suite, was very spacious, with a very clean en-suite bath and shower. The decor was in a sort of Regency style, which may not be to everyone's taste, but the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good, and the proprietor was friendly. I would be happy to stay here again.

I found this B&B almost by accident on an internet search for somewhere cheap and quiet to stay in Halifax on a work trip. When I found Mozart House (a 5 minute, slightly uphill walk from the station, and similar distance from the city centre) I got a pleasant surprise - it's a comfortable, welcoming B&B with a very helpful and friendly owner. A lot of care has gone into the decor, although it's a bit chintzy (all the suites are named after classical composers...) and it was spotlessly clean. There's free, fast wireless broadband and breakfast was a very substantial full cooked version, nicely done. I'd highly recommend this for anyone wanting to be close to central Halifax for either work or leisure purposes, and I'd definitely go back.
