Stayed there during the west highland way. I was not expecting much as I read the reviews. But was very positively surprised. I booked a small single room and got a big double room with and bathtub (absolutely wonderful) and my room was actually renovated (except the bathroom). The hotel is old overall but well maintained and it makes its charm. At least it looks unique. The fake flowers could be replaced by real ones or real plants.
Only negative point, the bathtub was a bit old and I couldn’t turn off the hot water. Luckily a member of the staff was in the hallway and came to help, even he struggled turning it off.
I would recommend 🙂

Initially hesitant to after reading a few reviews we were pleasantly surprised by the Hotel. The room was small but modern and clean. Perfect location for walking the West Highland Way. Good value for money. Staff were welcoming and friendly. We paid extra for the breakfast and was delicious.

We stayed here while walking the west highland way. It was a great place to stop. The staff were very friendly, both on reception and in the restaurant. The room was comfy and had a bath which was very welcomed. The restaurant was good, serving some nice fresh food.

Excellent stay as usual, stayed here many times, staff make this hotel and rooms are beautiful crisp clean comfy beds and food was outstanding. Rhoyda and another lady checked us in and were so happy and cheery and we managed to catch up with the lovely Nina she always looks after us and is very good at her job. The general restaurant manager was also lovely. This time we ate a la carte and had chicken with peppercorn sauce and my goodness it was outstanding the chef came out to see us he was so passionate and we so privileged to have eaten his food really if you go here try the a la carte menu you don’t be disappointed, ||Overall another amazing stay stunning decor and grounds were lovely and maintain thanks for another amazing stay to all of the team Paula and angie xxx

Been staying here for on and off for the best part of the last month and a half and really struggle to fault this place. It is a bit dated in terms of outside decor, restaurant decor etc but the rooms are clean. Staff go above and beyond to help and make the stay as good as possible. I must have eaten in the hotel over 15 times and have never had a bad meal. Restaurant staff are just lovely. Really been a highlight of my working day to come back to the hotel and have a chat with staff. Definitely a diamond in the rough.

After reading some of the reviews I was slightly worried about our stay. I shouldn't have been. It was delightful! A bit different, yes - a bit like stepping into a Thai-inspired Scotland, yes...but accept that and it's all quite lovely! Comfortable bed, hot, powerful shower, good food (and wine). The bar is huge and a little strange, but after a day on WHW my friend and I sat on velvet 'thrones' with an Aperol and I have to say it was all very joyful! The staff were fabulous. ||My only concern/gripe is that there were no local staff, as far as I could tell. This is a rather large oversight as if you have a hotel in Scotland surely you should employ local people...from this respect I am not sure if I would return.

I recently stayed at the Muthu Ben Doran Hotel and overall had a positive experience, with a few minor drawbacks.

The hotel itself is definitely a bit tired and dated, but it’s set in an absolutely spectacular location, surrounded by stunning Scottish scenery. The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout my stay, which really added to the experience.

My room was comfortable and I slept very well. I also appreciated the complimentary water and tea/coffee facilities, which were a nice touch after a long day of exploring.

The biggest letdown for me was the on-site bar. A beer cost almost £8, which felt pretty steep even for tourist prices. What really took away from the atmosphere, though, was seeing other hiking guests allowed to take off their shoes and socks and rest their feet on the furniture — not exactly what you want while you’re trying to enjoy a drink.

That aside, I would definitely stay here again for the peaceful setting, good night’s sleep, and friendly service — but next time, I’ll probably skip the bar.

This is the third time I arrived with my team days ago in Tyndrum while walking the West Highland Way. The hotel is marvelous. The receptionist was polite and efficient. Our room was nicely decorated in black and white with subtle wallpaper and pictures. The beds were very comfortable.|And I will never forget the lovely dinner that Mr. Junaid the manager of the hotel arranges it for the team it was unbelievable (Biryani Chicken). I advise everyone to stay in this hotel every time they visit this area. It is the best hotel ever.
