We went to the Taste and Tour, which gave us a two course meal with a drink, and a historical tour by the landlord Nigel, for a reasonable £36 a head. The pub was tastefully decked for Christmas with myriad fairy lights and candles, and crackers on the tables. The food was really excellent, and we learned a lot about the history of the pub from 1400 to the present day, and some of the artifacts inside. Well done to the waiting staff too..

Superb pub for a family meal over Christmas for 18 of us. Staff gave us a warm welcome and served delicious food for everyone. From initial booking through to the staff accommodating a Birthday cake for one of our party, service was excellent. Thank you!

Visited for somewhere different in the area for lunch. Underwhelming experience which was disappointing, despite the lovely lunch menu and food.

Whilst the pub has a unique history and is great that it's being preserved through the NT, it had zero atmosphere despite 4-5 tables of people dining and drinking. No background music, everyone sitting in eary silence or whispering which was a real shame. You almost felt bad for having a conversation.

I wouldn't suggest the latest pop music, but even something themed to go with the period of the pub would give people something to experience.

Open fire was lovely in both rooms, but a fault with the heating today left it even more bleak being cold and deadly silent.

Will try again in the summer when the weather picks up and hopefully there's more of a welcoming ambience about the place.

Slightly difficult to find in the dark so we went during the daylight to be able to locate. The meat pie was excellent! We were seated near the fireplace which on a cool night was wonderful.
The inn is very old and full of stories in its roughly 1000 year history.

December 21st. A sunny, cold winter solstice. The Fleece Inn provided the perfect place to eat after a two hour muddy walk around the Snowshill area. The food was delicious, the vibe just right, and the open fire made us not want to leave.
I've booked again for mid-January to take a school friend from, eek, several decades ago, who is visiting from New Zealand. We're all looking forward to it.
Thank you 😊.

Great National Trust pub. Excellent range of real ales and the food was 'scrummy'....I had chicken/leek pie +veg + chips. (Food £££). Wonderful very olde worlde interior and great country setting. Lakes close for fishing too!!

Love this place, it's like stepping back in time with open fires original features. A great selection of beers and ciders plus great food at reasonable prices. I can definitely recommend the pies.
