A charming bed and breakfast run by Alison and Geoff, many thanks for such a wonderful stay. Nelson’s Cottage was absolutely spotless with extremely comfortable rooms which were well maintained, the cottons sheets were luxurious and crisp. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, you have thought of everything and we wanted for nothing. Such terrific hosts we will definitely be back.

Highly recommend this lovely bed and breakfast. Room spotless and very comfortable, everything you need. Jeff and Alison very friendly and helpful. Breakfast brilliant. Good location, handy for Ludlow and exploring area.

We wanted to stay overnight somewhere close to Ludlow, but not too expensive, and couldn't have picked a better spot. Ludlow was an easy 15-20 minute walk away, which helped us to stretch our legs after travelling.

Both Jeff and Alison were very helpful and easy to talk to. Alison is very knowledgeable about walks in the area.

The rooms were spotless. They even provided a fridge, with a little bottle of milk, tea, coffee, luxury towels, toiletries, even a wine corkscrew and glasses, had we had the foresight to bring a bottle of wine.

Breakfast was plentiful with cereal and yoghurts on offer followed by a cooked breakfast, which included an award winning sausage.

All in all, we had a very a very comfortable stay and would highly recommend Nelson's Cottage for a stay in the Ludlow area.

Owner locked me in the house and then physically assaulted me, ripping my rucksack, because i lost my room key, he was demanding £120 to replace it before i could leave. Had to contact police

Edit : I have posted a clear voice clip on facebook that i managed to record and send to a friend, after the owner had locked the doors.So the response from the owner below doesnt look great!

He locked all the doors and demanded £120 for a key before i could leave, this is all clearly heard on the video, and then ripped me backwards by my bag as i tried to leave through the back door, breaking the strap.I had asked to leave about 10 times, and regardless of losing the key, this is no way to treat paying guests.

I offered to pay £60 for the key which was agreed with his wife, but he wouldnt accept this. I would have happily paid that amount, i felt £120 was too much and didnt think this way of getting the money is OK to be honest, again this is all heard clearly on video, i had no plans on leaving until the next weekend.

Will be following this all up with the police and taking it as far as i can.

Great place to stay, clean friendly, great breakfast and accommodates 3 couples or singles, well placed for visiting the area at a reasonably cost. Excellent value and great hosts
