I stayed here a few times over June due to my partner being in Castle Hill hospital. Each time I stayed I had a really good experience and was very well looked after. Ian and Lorraine have always been very welcoming and offered their help and advice as to the local area several times, as well as being compassionate and caring considering the circumstances of my stay. I stayed in room 5 and paid an extremely reasonable rate for this room (the cheapest I was able to find within the vicinity of the hospital) although I do feel that my stay was worth a lot more. The room itself was small, but very reasonably priced and well appointed. It was very clean and each time I stayed there was a generous selection of teas and coffees. I can't recommend the Newholme enough and would definitely stay again, hopefully under better circumstances!

There was private parking out front so it was a great start to our overnight stay. The room was very well appointed with ensuite facilities. The one thing we have noticed on our trip around England is that every shower is different and once again we had to learn how to use it. This comment is not made to detract from this guest house, it just became an unwelcome feature of staying in the UK. Breakfast was a feast so after warm goodbyes we waddled out to the car to continue out trip.

We always stay at the Newholme when we're in town. Ian and Lorraine know how to make you feel at home - the bedrooms are very comfortable and the breakfast is a hearty start to the day. The Newholme is but a short walk into town, just on the other side of the tracks - which isn't as bad as that sounds for all concerned, it's only Northern Railways after all...||Highly recommended.

We stayed here after my mums disastrous stay in a Beverley hotel. What a difference. The couple running it made an otherwise difficult situation (my Dad is in hospital nearby) bearable. Breakfast is fabulous, beds comfy, brilliant shower and a home from home.

I enjoyed the homely feel, the huge, nutritious breakfasts, and the convenient location, near Cottingham shops, bus and railway station. While there I enjoyed reading the first and second of Bridget Jones' diaries I found on the lounge bookshelf. Ian and Lorraine make hospitality look effortless.

Wow what a gem we found here, clean modern rooms with lots of nice little touches you wouldn’t find in a five star hotel, breakfast was also superb with quality locally sourced ingredients and beautifully cooked. Hosts were great too and made our stay very enjoyable, would certainly return.

Over Christmas holiday, travelled up from Cambridgeshire to visit 94 year old mum-in-law||in local nursing home and not for the first time very grateful for the care and attention of Lorraine and Ian whilst we were will them.||The room was as we have grown to expect.||The breakfast was their usual standard, superb. ||We will visit again.
