We arrived at this truly charming thatched cottage and given a warm welcome by Mandie and David. I was immediately struck by history of the cottage and the sense of calm. We were offered a pot of tea and cake and shown our beautiful suite of rooms. The bedroom itself was warm and the bed comfortable. The clean white linen on the bed and the quilt complimented the rooms ambience. The additional room connected to the bedroom enabled us to make our own tea/coffee, and the lovely biscuits were very welcoming after a busy day. The room also had its own fridge for fresh milk and the still and sparkling water were really appreciated. The bathroom, was stunning and tastefully decorated with fresh white fluffy towels. The attention to detail was amazing. Breakfast was a feast! A choice of cereals (including gluten free), fresh orange juice, filtered coffee and tea. The full English breakfast is a must, especially David's scrambled eggs, and of course lots of toast with jam or marmalade. No need for lunch! David and Mandie really understand how to give their guests a wonderful holiday and we cannot recommend Nightingale Cottage highly enough.
Although David and Mandie were our hosts when we arrived, I feel we left as friends. Thank you so much to you both. Caroline and Allan.

The cottage was beautiful and Mandie and David made sure we had everything we needed. Nightingale Cottage was charming and quirky and the fresh flowers around the house were lovely. Breakfast was delicious, including cereal, fruit ,yogurt and full English and we were greeted with tea and cake on our return to the cottage at the end of the day. We also had tea making facilities in our room and really appreciated the fresh milk in the fridge. Mandie and David gave us plenty of information about the area and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Just returned from a very enjoyable stay at Nightingale Cottage. From the moment we arrived until our departure Mandie and David could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The property is a most beautiful place oozing history but without compromising on modern day creature comforts. Our room (the Goodwood) was well equipped (including a comfortable bed and excellent shower), warm and spotlessly clean. ||Breakfast was more than ample (cereal, fresh fruit and yoghurt, a full English, toast, fruit juice and endless cups of hot tea or coffee).||When next in the area we won’t stay anywhere else.

Wonderful B&B in a delightful village setting. Beautifully furnished accommodation, delicious breakfasts and very friendly welcoming hosts. Such a pleasure to have found this gem on our first holiday visit to the area for almost 40 years. Thank you both 🙂

Mandie and David were extremely thoughtful and friendly hosts. Nightingale Cottage and our room were spotlessly clean, and we were reassured by the Covid precautions. All the important basics were 100% : immaculate linen,comfortable bed,excellent water pressure. Lovely touches like fresh flowers from Mandie's garden displayed in pretty jugs & antique furniture created a charming effect. Breakfast was freshly prepared with delicious strawberries & melon as well as a full English.

Delightful chocolate box cottage, filled with welcome. Mandie was the perfect host, working extremely hard at taking care of her guests and making them feel part of her family. Nothing was too much trouble. Great attention to detail from the comfort and look of the rooms, to the sourcing of the delicious local produce used for breakfast. A great taste in all things. Perfect location for exploring Chichester and it's environs. A perfect place to stay when attending a concert at Boxgrove Priory which is quite literally just across the road. Our only regret was that our stay was not long enough! We'll be back.

We have just returned from a long weekend stay in this picturesque cottage. You feel very much part of the house, sharing a front door and breakfasting in their delightful dining room. However rooms are up a separate staircase with locks so you have privacy. The hosts Mandie and David were very attentive - nothing was too much bother they even looked up places to eat on a Sunday without us asking. They are happy to book taxi’s and restaurant tables for you. Fresh milk in rooms, a slice of cake and a pot of tea when we returned are such lovely touches. |Rooms are immaculately clean and breakfast was scrummy - fresh fruit and local cook breakfast produce. |A really lovely peaceful break in a beautiful part of the world. would highly recommend. |PS be aware door way in suite to en-suite is v low (about 5’2’’) so if you have back problems be aware you are booking an old house with genuine features! We found it charming.

Just returned from lovely our 4 nights stay at the beautiful Nightingale Cottage.||||Mandie and David, the hosts, could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Nothing was a bother for them, and on returning every day we were met with a smile, a pot of tea and slice of cake. The breakfast is excellent, and really sets you up for the day ahead.||||The provisions made for the current Covid-19 situation were excellent, and left us feeling very safe and secure in the knowledge both Mandie and David had taken even precaution to ensure our safety during our stay. ||||Their knowledge of the local area is great, and I suggest if you are staying you ask them for some pointers on places to visit.||||The village is lovely, with Boxgrove Priory just a 2 minute walk away.||||Location is great. Can pretty much get to any of the main places of interest and attractions within 15 mins.||||We will definitely be back in the future, for what will no doubt be another relaxing and enjoyable stay.||||Thank you
