Stayed in Febuary, much to the owners surprise! A bit quiet that time of year, but he was happy to get a room ready for me. Room was clean, comfortable and well equipped and the bar downstairs was cosy. Good spot on the high street too.

Awful.
We had the misfortune of staying in this place for a recent overnight stay. Due to most places insisting on a minimum 2 or 3 night stay, we were limited to where we could book up, and this was the one we plumped for. Big mistake.
The room was shoved up in the attic and was tiny with seriously restricted headroom (not mentioned anywhere on the website when booking). The bathroom was so small that no fully-grown adult could stand up in it, let alone have a bath/shower.
I asked the proprietor if we could swap to a room on a lower floor to hopefully get some more headroom (I'm 6'2), but he clearly didn't give a toss. All I got was a blunt "those are the rooms you booked and you're only here for one night, so deal with it!" He barely even looked up from playing on his phone while speaking to me.
The bathroom was covered in mould, the toilet flush didn't work properly (took 4 attempts before things flushed away). Both the bath & sink taps didn't shut off properly, so we had the drip, drip, drip to contend with all night. We fancied a cup of tea but found that the kettle was also covered in mould.
Can't comment on the bar as I refused to give the place any more of my money than necessary.
The only plus point I can mention is its central location within Ventnor. However, because of that it offers no parking.
All in all, not an enjoyable experience.

We came upon this bar on our first evening. I wanted to try an espresso martini so we ventured inside this small but perfectly formed, characterful wine bar. It was obviously frequented by locals who all knew each other and we wondered whether we would feel a bit out of place. On the contrary. Everyone was very chatty and we were soon joining in the conversation and feeling comfortable and welcome. Subsequently, we. visited this bar most evenings during our 7 night stay in Ventnor. Brian was so helpful, advising places to go, things to do and local. eateries. The drinks were so reasonably priced, there was nowhere else comparable. Brian was always happy to chat and share funny anecdotes and the people coming in were relaxed and good humoured. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and nicely maintained. All in all a very memorable and enjoyable part of our holiday. Thank you!

Stayed here on isle of wight festival weekend... Room was nice, bathroom wasn't the cleanest, and we were on the top floor where there was sloped ceilings, so there wasn't a chanc of anyone over 5 foot standing up in the shower.
The room was also really warm, but there was a fan which helped a little.
The host is lovely and the bar downstairs is really nice and very good value for money.
The stay as a whole was also decent value for money, so would stay again if I was in the area.

Top Lavazza coffee ! Said from an Italian man in town. Pop in by chance in this very nice place close to the parking and the super friendly owner offer me a good espresso . He knows his stuff in football too and predicted 2 1 Vs Holland! C'mon England in Euro 2024. Emanuele

We had an excellent stay at No 24 and particularly enjoyed the sunny garden, hospitality and the useful advice that we were given. We were fortunate that our stay coincided with the hottest day of the year and we were there for the Ventnor Fringe.

Number 24 is not a hotel but rather a few rooms above a small bar in the main High Street and as such expectations should be adjusted accordingly. ||My stay here was fine and the owner affable although being over 6’ staying in one of the top rooms with combed ceilings wasn’t ideal - bath in en-suite with a shower attachment that was only suitable for in bath use and shaving would have been a challenge in the sink etc. Still comfortable bed clean towels and not noisy ( which had been a concern due to the bar below). My main criticism would be that the room door could not be locked and this needs addressing as some other reviewers have also noted. ||If staying again, which I would, I’d ask for a room that didn’t have the aforementioned height issues.

This 5 bedroom boutique hotel in the town of Ventnor is brilliant. The hotel is quirky with the walls covered in interesting art, from cartoons to metal wall sculptures that make you stop and stare narrow staircases and great decorated rooms. A small bar downstairs caters for your social needs whilst mixing with some great colorful locals, who are happy to part with their secrets and tips on the best places to eat and visit.
This is all bought together by the Hotelier (Brian) who has a great sense of pride in his business and looks after you from the minute you enter. He has a brilliant sense of humour and the ability to provide a great pint of Guinness amongst other beverages. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for him which went a long way to making our holiday one of the best we've had in the UK for a very long time.
Thanks mate, see you again soon!!!
