For the 3 days, 2 nights we stayed there, we cannot fault the service and areas we used. Service was great from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean, spacious, with a comfortable bed and very hot shower and bath water. Food for breakfasts, dinners and afternoon snacks were delicious.

This hotel is part of Best Western. It has a fabulous location on Rutland Water. You can choose a courtyard or water view. There is free parking for hotel residents as long as you input car reg. There is a conservatory for afternoon tea, a bar area, and a restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The conservatory has water views. The afternoon tea was good value, and we were full afterwards. Our room was a good size with plenty of room for luggage. Staff are helpful and friendly. They do weddings and would be a great location being so close to the partially submerged church at the waters edge. We had stopped using BW hotels many years ago as we had been disappointed with the quality. However, I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel. It is clean with good facilities. There is no need to go out to dinner as their restaurant had sufficient choice. I have given 4 stars but really a 4.5.
It is also dog friendly.

I only visited to meet relatives unseen for a decade, a brunch if you like, coffees, teas and hot drinks were excellent and one jacket potato hot meal appeared also to be excellent although it wasn't mine to taste.
Strangely, in over 40 years of living and working in the area and at one stage being closely allied to Rutland Water, it's the first time I've visited it.
Great location but can't comment on the rooms, my cousin said it was great however.

Stayed here with my wife and 6 yr old daughter in family room. The beds were massive and plenty of space to relax and unwind. The only thing that let it down as the shower but the rest of the room was lovely. We ate in the hotel for evening meal and the steaks were absolutely delicious and great value for money. As the hotel is situated on Rutland water we manage a lovely evening walk to walk off our meal before we retired to our room. If you are looking for somewhere to stay around Rutland water that offers value for money with a bit of luxury than this is the place. I would defiantly stay again 👍❤ī¸

Fantastic food throughout my stay, lovely breakfast offering British and continental each day. I was out all day but the lunch menu looked great. Evening meal was a traditional menu from house burgers to lamb to steak. The steak was fantastic and I would fully recommend.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were given a voucher for afternoon tea, available here from 12.00-3.00. We booked it for 12.00 to use as lunch, the tea was plentiful and sandwiches fresh, and tasty. But we were disappointed with the rest. The scones were warm but very dry, you needed plenty of liquid to help them down, no butter just cream and a stodgy jam. The cakes were gluey, the base of the cheese cake so hard it slide off my plate when I tried to cut through it, there was a very runny lemon dessert which I found too sweet. Lovely view over the lake from our table in the conservatory. We would not be rebooking, sorry.

We booked a "Superior" room with lake view. It's true there was a good view of the lake through the window, but the window was small, incidental part of the room and suffered with condensation. There was nothing superior about the room - it had a damp musty smell and a generally tired look. On the plus side the bed was warm, clean and comfortable with good pillows. The corridor to the room had an air "freshener" in it, I assume to mask the smell of dampness. It was turned up so high the air was barely breathable.||The bathroom was also tired and had a warning about not burning yourself in the shower. This was clearly because the shower was not fitted with a thermostatic control. Although the hot water was fine in the evening, it was too cool to wash in by the morning so the warning was irrelevant!||For dinner, the Lamb Shank and Chilean Merlot were very nice. As was the chocolate pear tartlet and raspberry sorbet. The salmon and its sauce were however uninspiring. The dining room was just a bit too bright and a bit too cold for a really comfortable meal though.||The staff were always friendly and helpful.||We were given a reduction for the hot water being cool water, but overall this stay was just not value for money.
