We have just returned after 2 nights Gourmet break. We could not fault it. The food was exceptional and beautifully presented. Every member of staff went out of their way to make you truly welcome and helped in making it a memorable break . Thank you Northcote. Just returned from a three night stay at this hotel. It’s our third visit and as always the experience has been amazing. The unobtrusive attention to detail with northern hospitality makes for a relaxing time. Lisa and her team excelled as usual delivering delicious, beautifully presented food. Without exception all staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would like to give a shout out to Iona who made me some original non alcoholic cocktails based on my taste. I think you should call my favourite ‘Iona’s Italian Spritz’! Looking forward to our next visit.

We have stayed here probably half a dozen times in the past and always enjoyed the experience especially the food. This time the food was exceptional. Service was great special thanks to the lady sommelier, she was helpful, knowledgeable and went out of her way for us. Excellent.|We were less keen on our room a bit dark and in need of updating.|I know there has been a recent change of ownership but having seen a previous comment about the garden was shocked to see the vegetable garden in such a mess. Such a shame. We will however return as the food is so good even our grumbles don’t deter us.

We stayed here for dinner and overnight on a Gourmet Break.||It was as beautiful as we'd expected. The room was perfectly set up with lots of storage, beautiful views.||Comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom with lots of space.||Tea and coffee making with fresh milk in the fridge and excellent home-baked ginger biscuits.||Dinner was fabulous .||I was really surprised and delighted that I was able to have a non alcoholic wine flight matching each course, so I was able to fully join in the fun along with the truly excellent food. Beautifully designed executed and served. Our dining experience was really enjoyable. A very special dinner.||Breakfast also great. Service throughout really professional and friendly.||Wonderful stay, thank you so much.

Hi we stayed in one of the Lodge junior suites again. We find these rooms so comfortable & spacious with its own terrace area to sit outside. The bathroom is beautiful & spacious with a fantastic shower area. When visiting family in the area we absolutely love staying at Northcote & its wonderful restaurant. All the staff are a credit to the hotel. Our favourite hotel. Highly recommended.

This was on our bucket list and we’re worried that we had looked forward to it for so long we may be disappointed. We needn’t have worried. It was just brilliant from beginning to end. The room was beautiful, food was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. We had the delight of being served by a young waitress who was just lovely. The extra touches for my husband’s 50th were just right for someone who doesn’t like a fuss. Breakfast was equally as good and we really hope to return again.

Had a wonderful stay and meal. Food is classic and perfectly executed. Service is lovely as well. This place feels like an institution and most people were dressed up for it in jackets and dresses. Great value for money and I would definitely recommend for a taste of luxury.

We were lucky to be treated to a wonderful lunch on the market menu. The food was exquisitely presented and we were made to feel very welcome and special from start to finish. The sommelier was very knowledgable and all waiters were well versed in what was being presented. Each course was accompanied by a full description of the dish and its ingredients.
This is the best restaurant available in Lancashire for traditional service with a modern twist in flavours. Throughly recommend. Expensive - but you get what you pay for and well worth it. You will pay infinitely more for a lot less elsewhere.
