Pitches are half tarmac and half grass. I stayed in a camper; my daughter stayed in a tent. Both were comfortable. Location is great, near to Nostell Priory, which can be accessed without going on the road - by footpath or cycle path. The paths around the priory itself are lovely. On site, the toilet and amenity blocks were nearby and clean. The cafe is open more often than reception, but they are happy to deal with questions. Cafe is cheap and pleasant. The staff are friendly and helpful; the permanent residents more so. Couldn't have been a more welcoming atmosphere. Someone even lent us towels when I forgot to pack them. The only reason I've put 4 blobs instead of 5 is that the automated booking doesn't work very well, and they don't often answer the phone, so I nearly had to book somewhere else in order to have somewhere to stay. Otherwise great. I recommend it.

Great little place to rest your legs, hidden just off the cycle track around Nostell Priory.
Lovely milky coffee in a large mug and red hot, small selection of cakes.
Excellent prices.

We just got back from spending three nights here and there’s a few negatives and positives for my family and myself... let me first point out that we would return and is already planning on returning.
The negatives.... and the rain was a contributing factor to this one, the mud! On the site it’s gravelled and on either side of us separating each caravan is grass, as it’s been raining it was quite muddy. We went with the intent to put our caravan awning up and found that trying to peg the awning down on the gravel was a useless task and they kept bending as we tried to hammer them in... in the end we had to set it up on the grass with mud... it carried on raining a few days and around the caravan was a muddy slippy mess and the tarpaulin we laid as a ground sheet was filled with mud along with the bottom of the awning... another negative is that there’s nothing entertaining for teenagers. Our teenage son on the second day was bored out of his mind. The shower had a mind of its own on one occasion when I was in the middle of my shower it decided to stop leaving me freezing and in addition it takes a little while to warm up.

The positives is if you’re into nature walks it’s good for that. It’s peaceful and quite tranquil. It is also clean and the staff we encountered were warm and very accommodating, the bathroom is basic but the cleanliness is maintained. I would definitely recommend it for couples especially when it’s nice and dry.

Super site!. Set in a sheltered woodland clearing on the Nostell Estate. All tourers are under shady trees (which means cleaning awning a challenge ?) but the pitch is good, water and low amp EHU. Small shop in cafe but walking over the fields to Ackworth is easy enough for plenty of shop options. Good security and friendly staff. The estate is beautiful offering lots of woodland walking and trails. Great base for exploring the local area. We will definitely be back!

We visited recently in our motorhome, a bit last minute but we managed to get a pitch which was spacious and offered some welcome shade. A nice friendly welcome at reception. The park is well maintained with plenty of trees and it is located close to the National trust Nostell Priory estate with access to lots of walks with your dog and on an evening it’s very quiet and peaceful. There is an ambulance station close by and the air ambulance helicopter will take off and land occasionally it didn’t disturb us at night.|The park has a mix of touring pitches and static holiday homes. The touring pitches are in the process of being upgraded, ours had a rather ancient EHU post. Refurbished pitches have water available too. |We didn’t use the cafe but it looked popular with the permanent residents.|The showers and toilets are clean if a little dated. My personal grumble was no hot water when I wanted a shower at 6pm and the actual shower water pressure was woeful, very irritating. | The site is more geared to caravans as there is no MH service area, you need to drive to the car park area and bucket off grey water to empty at the only elsen point. |Overall we enjoyed our stay. |||

we stayed for the weekend to break up our return journey from Stratford back north on our caravan touring holiday. we had stayed here before several times in the past years. the grounds are wonderful and are still very tranquil. ||The available touring pitches have been reduced now as additional statics have been sited in the open air plots.||Unfortunately this leaves only a small group of pitches available which are under large trees. The pitches are not very tidy with very poor grass due to the lack of direct sunlight.
