Overall happy with our stay. Good facilities and had a modern clean feel. A more isolated location so nice and quiet. Room had A/C which was lovely plus a fridge to keep some snacks cool. Free parking on site, but make sure you check your vehicle in with the machines at reception.

I chose this hotel because it was recently refurbished and in that regard it did not disappoint. The room was clean and fresh. There were tea and coffee making facilities, hand soap and shower gel. No drinking water, no shower cap, body lotion etc. although reception was able to provide shower caps on request. Despite the bed not looking overly comfortable we had a decent night’s sleep. The bed sheets were bobbly - would have been nicer if they were crisp. The noise from the motorway (given the location) did not disturb us. Having a separate toilet without a wash basin somewhat defeats the purpose. The shower and sink were clogged and so much water pooled in the shower tray that you had to stop the water for fear of flooding the bathroom. On arrival the receptionist was very friendly, as was the bar manager. A good selection of food at the bar and thanks to my silver ALL status we received complimentary welcome drinks. The breakfast was not great for vegetarians or vegans which we specified on the booking. All the standard fare but nothing was labelled and no one around to really ask. No alternative milks. Having paid extra for breakfast I ended up eating a slice of toast and instant coffee. The hash browns looked brown and dry rather than golden so we avoided. Not the standard I would expect for what claims to be a 4 star hotel. On departure the receptionist was just not interested in being there. No aspect of friendliness at all. All that said, would I stay again? Yes for the room (despite the sheets, the cleanliness of the refurbished room was important to me). However, I’d skip breakfast.

Excellent room for families and staff were lovely and always helpful. The room was newly refurbished, with a great set up for families 2 adults / 2 children with separate beds for the children - not a given in many places. The main public areas were generally really nice as well. Overall very impressed and will be back.

A few upgrades could really elevate this hotel.

Would love to see an increased range of breakfast items such as more cooked items and greater range of pasties / doughnuts/ muffins. I would love to see work done to reinstate the outside pool. This could be great and would make this out absolute go to Nottingham hotel.

Recently refurbished and rooms are well designed and clean. Friendly staff. Easy parking and easy to find from M1. Despite being close to the motorway it was peaceful.||Good shower, plenty hot water, welcome hospitality tray.||Bed was a bit firm for me. Breakfast was good for the included price, eggs were freshly made. Not much choice of bread or pastries. ||Didn't like the loud music playing in the reception area.||But otherwise very good value and location.

It was the air con in the bedrooms that got me directed to this hotel, and I am pleased it did. Having stayed at Delta Breadsall Priory, Mickleover Court. Hi Express. Pride Park and Travelodge, being honest it was worth trying something different. Yes, you have the brand standards of Novotel being pushed a little here, but I found I can overlook these minor points given the compromise of it being a great alternative to the usual choice for Derby. Given it is an extra 15min drive in top of my usual trip was easily justify able for what this place offers. If your a regular to the hotel scene in Derby and looking for a change or someone that just wants a wonderful clean practical and comfortable bed, with safe parking and staff that are honest and helpful. Give this place a try. I hope you find it like I did, worth it||given an internationa hotel chain, that feels as though it is a wonderful local hotel.

A great find, with the best bits being air con in bedrooms and free parking.
Only improvement that could be considered are the breakfast sausages... and body lotion in rooms. But then if this is all I have to comment on, you can see they seem to have the basics wrapped up well. If your arriving off the M1 or A52, if you pass a Best Western on your right. You have gone too far.

Amazing hotel, staff really friendly, spotlessly clean rooms amazing, large selection for breakfast, restaurant and bar beautiful and bed so comfortable you never want to get out of it. The hotel has recently been refurbished and the designers have done an amazing job, it looks fresh but still cosy. My only complaint is there was nowhere to sit outdoors and enjoy a drink.

Dear Hotel Manager, ||I hope this message finds you well. ||I am writing to express my concerns regarding my recent stay at Novotel Nottingham Derby from 02/05/2025 to 04/05/2025. While I appreciated the cleanliness of the room and the warm welcome from your staff upon check-in, my experience was marred by a couple of significant issues that I feel compelled to address. ||On Saturday morning, my family and I were abruptly awakened by loud conversations from the housekeeping staff. Initially, we thought it was just a group of guests, but it became clear that the noise was coming from the staff chatting and laughing with each other over a walkie-talkie. This continued for over an hour and was especially disruptive as it took place just outside our room. The housekeeping room is nearby, but this conversation was held directly outside our room door. ||While I comprehend that the staff needs to communicate, the volume and location of their conversations made it difficult for us to enjoy our morning, especially as we had a long day ahead. ||Later that evening, after returning with my daughter asleep in my arms, I approached the front desk to request a late check-out, as we had a long drive ahead the next morning. ||I was met with a somewhat unhelpful experience. Despite being asked for my room number multiple times and facing a series of questions regarding my membership status, including how many points I had, what type of membership I had, and again what room number I was in, I felt as though I was being interrogated rather than assisted. The presence of three staff members, all of whom seemed more focused on silently looking at each other than on helping me, added to my discomfort. ||At 11:30 PM, with a sleeping child in my arms, I found the situation to be highly intimidating. A simple "no" would have sufficed if a late check-out was not possible, but the lengthy questioning felt disrespectful, especially as a loyal member. I was informed that only top-tier members received late check-out, which was surprising as I checked the T&C and saw subject to availability not your status on the Novotel ranking . ||I believe that every guest deserves to be treated with courtesy, and I was disappointed in how my request was handled so abruptly. ||I am reaching out to request an alternative as a gesture of goodwill for not receiving the late check-out we hoped for, especially since this request stemmed from the staff's conversation about their plans for the weekend. ||Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback.
