An absolute hidden gem! Max is a super, generous and helpful host. Cosy, clean and comfortable, my cottage was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Great shower, extremely comfortable bed with butter soft bed linen and a kitchen to prepare light meals if you don’t want to work through the menu of the local pub that is two minutes away. Morning coffee on the patio was a joy and the perfect setting in which to admire the lovely garden. I stayed for a week and would have been happy to stay longer.

What a weekend! A friend and I got last minute tickets for Secret Garden Party and were worried about where we would be able to stay and found this lovely accommodation which was stumbling distance from a pub and few minutes a way from the shops which was perfect. The outhouse was so cosy and nicely secluded, it everything we needed, even had tea, coffee, milk and orange juice for our arrival! Max was very warm and welcoming made me feel right at home, he even offered us a lift to the festival if the taxis weren’t available! Thank you so much max for such a pleasant stay at such a great price, if i am around that way again I know where to stay!

Lovely stay! Max was such a kind host, very accommodating and really helpful despite a last minute change of plans. The place is gorgeous, so cosy and has everything you need for a stay. Short walk away from a garden centre and Co-op. Stone throws away from the pub. Ideal location and quiet. Parking across the road. Would highly recommended.

I cannot describe how amazing Max is and how lovely the cottages are. My husband and I had to travel down to the area for family issues and Max could not have been more friendly or accommodating. He truly is a spectacular man and did everything he could to make sure this difficult weekend would run smoothly.

The cottage itself was spotlessly clean, had more amenities than expected (e.g. a proper oven and not just a microwave and single hob like a lot of holiday lets), plus the mattress was so comfy, I even asked Max what mattress it was!

The access is through a private side door with pin code entry, and each cottage has separate keys and entrances. The views of the garden are lovely and it feels so private, you wouldn't think you were so near the A1!

I really would recommend staying here for anyone that is looking for somewhere comfy, clean and suitably private.

We will definitely try to stay here again next time we go down to the area. Thanks Max! =)

Came all the way from Liverpool with my girlfriend for work and booked this lovely little place! So happy I stayed there, what an experience! It’s like a little apartment to yourself it was great! Very clean and lovely decor! The bed was so comftable had a great nights sleep and the sheets just smelt so clean and fresh it was marvillous! Had a nice little patio aswell facing out into the huge garden max has! He let us have a wonder around before we left, I’ve never seen a garden so big! He showed us the luxury treehouse he’s currently making for people to stay in which is very far from the room he has booking out at the moment, so you get your privacy! Brilliant stay, brilliant service and a wonderful host! Would definitely recommend this for everybody! You will enjoy it a lot! Thanks to max for making us feel so welcome and for sharing his wonderful land! 100% coming back to this place!!

Fantastic place to stay. We were only there for one night visiting our daughter and son-in-law but will definitely be back. Great host, pleasant welcome with all the home comforts you could need. And the comfiest bed with the softest sheets we’ve ever experienced. Perfect!

Apartment is outbuilding at back of premises- done out really nice, lovely bed & good kitchen facilities.. bathroom needs some heating as is too cold (heater not working), and there isn't on site parking, but you can park on the road outside, which is no biggie.. overall a nice play to stay.. 👍
