The location is very beautiful and tranquil, with lovely views all around.
The interior is very charming, I like how it remains distinguishable from most other cafés.
We ordered the small English each, pot of tea, a cappuccino and slice of cake which came to around £29.
The sausage was really nice, the cake was good and the rest was fine.
It’s a pretty little spot on a road I travel quite frequently but I doubt I’ll return on account of the bizarrely hostile service and atmosphere. I hadn’t read the reviews until after we visited so I’m sort of relieved to see so many others have had the same reception and it wasn’t just us! As there were two of us we were able to laugh it off but had I been here alone I would have felt really uncomfortable. So unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming it was comical. What a shame.

Such a shame, the food was lovely, the service barely polite and the attitude to customers with dogs was horrible. The place is lovely, except the space that you have to sit in with your dog. The doggy room is dark, uninviting and uncomfortable. Made me quite upset.

This place has some history! It's seemingly run by a lady on her own, so the service was unexpectedly quick. We used this as a comfort break stop. The outside area welcomes dogs. Prices are set to suit locals.

Found this place by accident travelling home from a holiday in Cornwall. The choice of food & drink was amazing. We had 2 breakfasts & 2 omelette & chips, which was good to a fantastic standard. Definitely will be visiting again on our next trip to Cornwall.

We always look forward to breaking our journey down to Cornwall here, half way - and then again on our return journey if it coincides with opening hours!
There's plenty of parking, & our dogs love it as they can stretch their legs in the adjoining field at the back.
And we also love it because of the delicious home made crab sandwiches, & generous scone tea etc. You can eat indoors or out, & there are really spacious and cleanly loos.
This is hard work for the lady who keeps this Devonian 'pocket of excellence' afloat, who's not into small talk but focuses on providing an excellent service! We send her our Best Wishes for 2025, Hazel & Iain (from Hampton Court, Surrey)

We have stopped at Oaklands Farm on many occasions - always welcoming and great facilities - spotlessly clean - Dog exercise area - cracking sandwiches - particularly the crab! Makes a break in the Cornwall journey something to look forward to.
