Arrived at Oaklands House and was greeted by the lovely owner Jan. Explained all the facilities that were available and was so friendly and welcoming. Have felt like I have been at a home from home. Being my first holiday without the children, I was apprehensive but with the heated outdoor pool and Hottub available for use until the evening and just a lovely, relaced atmosphere! There is even a selection of board games for lazy, cosy evenings! Will definitely be returning again. Thank you Jan for an amazing, relaxing break away from home.

Oakland's house is amazing, the proprietors are so warm and welcoming, pleasant, and a pleasure to meet at anytime of the day or night.
Being a contractor working up and down the country, it is such a pleasure to stay at this property. I have stayed here for almost 6 months in the last year.
I have yet to try the outdoor swimming pool, but if the weather is as glorious this year as it was last year, I think some swimming will be called for.

Great location for us, train station is a 10 minute walk away, the train will take you to Shanklin and Ryde. |Owners were very friendly with lots of info of places we could visit. We did check in early which was great for us. We didn't use the pool but it did look lovely. Fridge in the room with tea/coffee and milk-thank you. Adult only was great for us, a lovely break. We would recommend the Yarbridge Inn pub/restaurant over the road, book well in advance.

Would just like to say a massive thank you for are stay got us prepared and relaxed befor the hustle and bustle of the iow festival the room was lovely bed very comfortable, spacious and spotless aircon was a great treat as was a very hot week and the noise reducing glass help with a great nights sleep loved the pool area the new astro turf finishes off the garden beautifully. Is in a beautiful part of the island close to bus stops and pubs I would highly recommend this hotel and will be back for sure thanks

Highly recommended - Jan makes you feel so welcome at her relaxing, quiet guest house. The property is spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds and good size rooms. The hot tub, pool and garden are a welcome bonus.

My partner Steve and I stayed for 5 nights. The owners Mick and Jan were very welcoming, and always gave us tips where to eat etc. They even supplied us with a cool bag and ice packs for a day out at the beach.||The room was contemporary looking with aircon,mini fridge,hairdryer,lovely double bed, a shower big enough for two people.||Our room overlooked the garden, so we managed to see 2 red squirrels eating nuts from the feeder. They are so rare these days so was a lovely sight.||The pool is great and it's such a good suntrap if you want a good tan.||The continental breakfast is worth every penny, and you can sit on the veranda to eat it.||It has pubs and restaurants within walking distance, so you can stagger back home after a few bevvies.||Jan and Mick told us about the International Space Station going over, so that was a good experience.||All in all we had an amazing time,10/10. We definitely intend on going back again soon. ||Thanks Jan and Mick for making our holiday a fabulous one xx

The beds are horrific! Felt every spring and when I asked for a topper I was told maybe I should bring my own if my back was bad! I actually dreaded going to bed. On top of this when you actually get to sleep you are woken by people in next room as toilets and showers actually shook the room as so noisy as they are not the plumbed in type. Additionally I could even hear the next room having a wee in toilet! I felt it was more a b&b for workmen. Nice to have glasses and cold water downstairs and pay for what you need. I would rather stay where you can walk into a village with something there or views. Pool nice but would rather comfy bed as many comments agree

Good central location, friendly and very helpful owner, on site parking, comfortable, clean and spacious room with kettle & mini fridge, excellent external facilities with outdoor pool and hot tub, perfect to relax after a long day exploring the island. Great value for money and great little pub / restaurant opposite!
