Strangely, Booking.com, who we booked with, wouldn't let us leave a review for our stay even though the owner invited us to in person. Hence we are posting it here. Beds were comfortable. The host is friendly and helpful and the location is convenient for Canterbury and in lovely surroundings, even if the nearby main road is a bit noisy. The windows in one room didn't fit properly so the road noise was audible, though it didn't keep me awake. The property needs a bit of TLC--a window handle was broken and a loo seat was loose and needed fixing; and one of our showers didn't have hot water--it was only warm. The cleaner needs to pay more attention to detail--while the rooms were clean, two already-opened packets of biscuits were left in my room when I arrived and the body wash in the shower was empty. But overall a nice place with a good host. The property comes with two friendly pigs in the nearby woodland. We wondered what all the tyres were doing in the pigs' field?!

Had a lovely stay here, Stuart was very helpful throughout our day, amazing location and the breakfast was perfect. Stuart even went out of his way to get gluten free bread for us for breakfast which was highly appreciated. Will definitely recommend staying here and we will be back.

The staff at this basic but lovely and peaceful retreat are very nice and helpful. The prices are a bit on the high side, but it was worth it for a nice getaway near to Canterbury, about a 10-minute cab ride away. Would stay again and this unique place.

Wonderful place to stay, room excellent and breakfast the best cooked full English. Best sausage I’ve tasted in a long while. Stayed in barn on ground floor as have disabilities. Only very slight criticism, no hooks back bathroom door or handrails in shower. I did bring my own handrail but unable to stick to walls. Room very large but bathroom would not be suitable for someone who cannot walk at all as not wet room, the shower has bottom tray. Would suggest if wobbly on feet like me to bring mat to put in bottom of tray, and although the breakfast room is well set up there is no easy access for wheelchair, but ok if using stick or crutches. There is a large veranda looking over trees and you feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere. Would be great in good weather but unfortunately it only stopped raining the day we left! Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful views. Lovely and peaceful. Clean room. Comfy bed. Tasty full English breakfast. Acres of land and nice to have a little wander into the woodland to see the pigs too. Would highly recommend and would stay here again. Overall lovely stay and experience.

Beautiful location with stunning surroundings. The service is fantastic, with friendly and attentive staff always ready to assist. The rooms are not only nice and clean but also tastefully decorated, providing a homely and relaxing atmosphere.||The English breakfast served here is truly delicious. Each morning starts delightfully with such a hearty meal.||Adding to the charm, there are also some cute pigs on the property 🐷, which brings a unique and cozy touch to the stay. It's truly a memorable experience that I highly recommend.

We had an excellent 2 night stay so we could attend a family wedding near by in Rough Common.|We couldn’t check in until late due to work and travel distance, but Stuart was willing to wait up until we arrived to check us in. Thank you.|The room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast was excellent. Views and surrounding area was lovely and we visited the pigs before going home. |We would definitely consider staying again as it is so close to the seaside as well as Canterbury.

Comfortable room with a good breakfast near Canterbury on the way back to Folkestone. Although we arrived late in the evening we had a very warm welcome from Stuart, the owner. The room was comfortable with a modern bathroom en-suite.|Breakfast next morning was tasty with the highlight being sausages made from their own pigs, delicious. Good value for money and east to locate close to the motorway exit.
