My husband booked this hotel as he had business on the Isle of Wight on the Monday and as the weather has been so good we decided to take advantage and stay for the Saturday as well as the Sunday. The staff were very helpful in directing us to the the car park behind the hotel and were very pleasant as we booked in. Our room was at the front of the hotel and the view was glorious. The room was basic but very clean as was the bathroom and the bed was comfortable. We very much enjoyed our two night stay here. The staff also offered to store any luggage for me whilst my husband was at his meetings so I could go out without being lumbered.

It is not the hotel it was.....it only has a few hotel rooms now all the rest that used to be holiday flat rentals are now lived in. The bar is now closed there is nobody in the hotel foyer though all the sofas are still there. The room was ok, very basic and in need of a little tlc , very tired but it was clean. We did have a sea view across two roads. So it was fine for a night , we paid £70 no breakfast as there is no kitchen on site any more either although the front of hotel advertises otherwise. ||I thought it was very sad that this hotel is on the way out, it felt realy odd staying here having to use the back door entrance.||The staff were very friendly but leave at 8pm so on your own after that .||The hotel is opposite the boating lake we had breakfast at the green cafe a short walk round the lake, would recommend , very nice.

Stayed in here over the past weekend to attend a reunion with some friends. The room was nicely furnished with a comfortable bed and had a wonderful view overlooking the sea. The staff were very helpful with showing me how around how to get in after dark.||||The only thing I would recommend is to put mats in the bath as it got very slippery when I used the shower. Apart from this, it was a lovely stay and I will be coming back in the future 🙂

When booking, I asked for a sea view and was not disappointed, I could barely tear myself away from watching all what was going on along the beach, the promenade and the sea, particularly after dark watching the lights out at sea! However, be prepared for the noise from the busy road down below, as someone who lives in a rural hamlet, the bus stop adjacent to the hotel was somewhat overpowering! ||||Our room was very comfortable albeit a bit 'tired'.||It seemed the bathroom suite was new but very badly finished off and with a suspicious looking leak from behind the loo! ||It is a very large hotel and I imagine it must be like the Forth Bridge to try to keep maintained and updated.||||Small points but nonetheless relevant, the tea making facilities were a bit stingy, with only three tea bags and no spoon (our room slept three), two mini soap bars and no shower/hair gels. ||More tea bags were supplied on request.||||However, I don't want to be negative as we had a very comfortable stay, the room was clean and the car was safely parked in the hotels car park and it was ideally situated to visit the many interesting places along the coastline.

Superb apartment with panoramic views of the Solent and I,O,W. Spotlessly clean, very friendly staff. One of my group severely disabled and staff were very helpful in assisting her. Only discovered the Portsmouth's apartments group when the owner of the previous hotel we have stayed I, for almost 30 years, recently retired. I can strongly recommend them and will certainly be staying there again, excellent!

Checked in - ok, went to room, very tired looking but ok for the 2 nights we booked... nice sea view from the balcony accessible by the sliding patio door. However, .... went onto balcony in the morning and trod on broken glass! Looking round found 4 bits of glass.. went to inform reception where there was no apology, did not ask if I was ok, just took the glass and said they would talk to housekeeping but did not know where the glass had come from. I replied that maybe a glass had been smashed and not cleaned up properly to which the response was..." well you should not be out on the balcony... it is just for show"!!! REALLY!!! Then hubby had a shower and the towel was dirty! There was no shampoo/conditioner, limited tea/coffee. Website advertised bar open till 8pm, went down to be told the bar had not been opened yet (not till June/July!) due to staffing blah blah, After 8pm you have to go round the rear entrance to get in. needless to say we will not be staying again!!

We have stayed at the Ocean Hotel Apartments several times. The hotel has parking at the rear but is also ideal for non car owners, being in an excellent location for public transport served by five bus services with an extra Sunday routes which cover the main areas of Portsmouth and Southsea with easy access to both of the Portsmouth Rail||Stations. Cabs are very cheap compared with some parts of England. The Ocean self catering apartments are well furnished and kept clean. In the apartments we have stayed in there is always a washing machine for guests to use and full size fridge and ||freezer and the view from the front rooms are excellent. Five minutes walk to the South Parade Pier and the new Co-op. Excellent staff to ensure you enjoy your hoday or any ||visit to the area.

We have stayed at the Ocean Hotel Apartments during this August Bank Holiday weekend and had a fantastic time!||The hotel is well situated at a prominent seafront location with stunning sea and South Parade Pier views. ||Very nicely decorated, clean, tidy and well-presented hotel!||The hotel staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. ||Thoroughly recommend it and certainly will be back soon for a weekend getaway from London.
