Old Mill Farm is a distinctive barn conversion in an attractive rural location. It ticks all the 'essentials' boxes: very clean, warm, comfortable beds, great shower and freshly cooked breakfast. DΓ©cor is a matter of personal taste so I won't comment on that. The owners have lived here since the barn was transformed into their home so it does feel more like staying with relatives! Pat was very helpful despite being temporarily without her husband. If you're in the area I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

This was a pleasant stay very close to a hall where a wedding reception was being held. The owners were very kind and friendly and the room was comfortable. They served a very good full English breakfast. My only complaint was the number of cobwebs in our room. I live in a converted barn so I know how they collect round beams but a feather duster does wonders. In all other respects the room was clean and tidy.

The owners were very accomodating when we explained we wanted a family room and they put us in 2 twins alongside each other for price of one room. The twin bedrooms are in separate wing but you go into the main house for breakfast in gorgeous barn conversion with lots of exposed woodwork. We hiked up the lawns behind and got some great views across to the local church with its mock tudor tower which looked stunning in the wooded valley. Worth walking to local pub The Hurstwood if you are prepared to pay little more for some good quality food though children didn't have much choice. We found the B and B hard to find in the dark as it is on a quiet country lane with lots of fancy houses so remember to drive all the way to the bottom of the valley along Chillies lane then you should see the sign.

We stayed in the converted stables and were very warmly welcomed by John and Pat, who did whatever possible to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast in the morning is excellent, the conservatory is available for having tea or reading the newspaper, or to have a conversation with the hosts. The house is situated away from the main road (not very busy anyway) and at the back is an upward sloping garden with a stunning view of the area. Behind that calves (and in winter sheep, so John told us) graze in a field belonging to the farm. It is certainly a B&B with extras.||We are walkers and chose the location for the many footpaths that crisscross through magnificent rolling hills, green and golden fields, with magnificent views in all directions. We were not disappointed!

Old Mill is set in wonderful countryside with rolling hills, cows and sheep around! The rooms are basic but very comfortable - the bathrooms are very well appointed and modern. The home is a beautiful converted barn. Breakfast was delicious! And at Β£40 pp including breakfast it was excellent value for money.

Stayed at this bed n breakfast in February.
The couple that run it made us very welcome they were chatty and friendly. It was very comfortable in a converted barn in lovely grounds. Breakfast was nice. Would stay there again if was in the area.

I did a lot of research and thought Old Mill Farm looked pretty and was ideally situated for a family gathering.||||I booked Old Mill Farm on behalf of relatives staying for a party in the village this summer. I originally booked 3 rooms and all seemed well. ||||Several weeks after confirmation, the owner contacted me to apologise that she had double booked us with someone else and I could only have 2 of the 3 rooms. ||||Now due to lack of time I kept two of the rooms and had to move my in-laws to another B&B. I explained the two rooms I kept were for two adults and two children so needed to be on the same floor. This was confirmed and I paid the deposit. All seemed well.||||Upon arrival the Husband was very pleasant and showed my relatives to their rooms and I left them there. They unpacked and joined us in the village. Shortly after the Wife came and found us to say that her husband had put them in the wrong rooms and that she had moved their things to the correct room. We were so shocked that she had touched their things that we didn't say anything and and my relatives quickly went back with her to the B&B to sort it out. ||||The result was that the children were put in a room upstairs and the adults downstairs. They were not happy about this and in the end one parent slept with one child and the other parent slept with the other child. This was not really an acceptable situation and was a disappointing end to a lovely holiday.||||Breakfast was OK, but upon departure there was not an apology or refund/partial refund.||||I wish now that I had moved everyone and not kept the booking. I should have taken the issues up with the owner but to be honest we just wanted to forget about the whole thing and move on.||||I will not be recommending Old Mill to friends and family in the future.

Tucked away off the beaten track though directly on the Vanguard Way long distance path for walkers. This B&B deserves many more stars than just one. Excellent breakfast with the freshest eggs and bacon. Comfortable bed and top notch electronic shower in my room. No mobile phone signal so you can turn off your smartphone, no one will be ringing you. Sky TV. Excellent hosts who also picked me up from the crossroads after my walking legs gave up. I willing offered a little extra for this kindness.
