My husband and I stayed in Minnie's Hut for our anniversary/belated honeymoon this week and all I can say is 'WOW!'. This review is going to be long, because I adore Old Rectory, plus Lisa and Jamie are incredible hosts who deserve all the love! ||I honestly don't know if words can do justice to how beautiful the scenery is or how tranquil and serene the entire atmosphere and vibe is of the whole property. The views from our little home (as it truly felt like our home for the two nights we stayed) were absolutely stunning; Minnie's Hut looks out over a field of adorable sheep, all the way out to sea. Perfect for a BBQ and for watching the storm we encountered from the cosy bed.||The interior of the hut is stunning. A gorgeous mixture of funky, rustic and luxury. The decking was nice to relax with the fire and hot tub too, but my favourite part was the skylight and listening to the rain or stargazing whilst snuggled up.||The grounds? Picturesque. The animals? Possibly the best part for us. We made friends with the pygmy goats (Pascal acts like a cat with horns, cuddly and attention seeking), I stroked two sheep, fell in love with one of the cats and saw baby peacocks learning to fly. If animals aren't your thing, they're quite content to leave you alone, but after learning they're friendly my husband and I definitely made a point to befriend anything remotely fluffy.||We didn't leave the grounds on our second day as we didn't feel we need to, but the pool area and hot tub were blissful. We had the pamper package too, and had ourselves a self care day (highly recommended). The pool house has complimentary tea and coffee, which is really high quality. The pool is warm and the hot tub is just lush. The whole area makes you feel like you're in the Algarve. ||The spa facilities? Wow. We had the crystal full body massage the day we left and just... Wow. I've been to spas in a few different countries and I have to say that the holistic approach here is up there with some of the more expensive places I've been to. The products are also beautiful.||We also had the breakfast package which is full of fresh local produce. So full in fact that we couldn't eat it all, but I need to mention the sausages in particular because they're mega tasty.||Finally, I just want to mention how phenomenal Jamie and Lisa are. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble (even me asking the names of all the animals) and they truly make you feel welcome. We can't thank them enough for all the little touches and the love that you can see in every tiny detail of the property.

Everything is catered for. The most beautiful shepherd's hut, location, spa, 5 star from start to finish. We loved every minute and can't wait to return. Lisa and Jamie are fantastic hosts and Dottys hut is so well equipped! We loved the wood fired hot tub, woodland Sauna, The location is so close to the fantastic Jurassic beach of Kilve. The local pub was only a 10 min walk, with great service and food. And as a couple it's thd most perfect escape from every day life! We cannot wait to return and would highly reccomend to everyone xx

Just celebrated my friends birthday with a day retreat here. It was amazing from start to finish! We had the woodland area with a sauna, hot tub and ice bath all to ourselves in the morning and had a spa day package which was thoughtfully put together, had lots of amazing products for us and the woodland spa is so good! Had a gorgeous lunch, the pool and sauna to ourselves before lunch, then a cacao ceremony and meditation. The service we had was top notch and they ensured we had a fabulous day! We will be back and wish we had booked to stay at least overnight. Thank you for today was honestly such a beautiful day x

James and Lisa looked after us during our visit so well, nothing was to much trouble. My Daughter & Grandaughter joined me for a spa day in the delightful Cottage Treatment Room. Our welcome included a spritz and full use of the cottage faciities and refreshements with robes shoes and towels and water bottle all ready. Lunch was amazing all freshly cooked and served with a smile including a birthday candle for my daughter. We then relaxed by the heated pool and used the amazing hot tub and Sauna. My husband & I checked into Charlottes Hut in the afternoon and we all enjoyed a barbeque with the most spectacular views before the family headed home. We spent 2 nights in the most comfortable hut with a very high standard of kitchen equipment and complimentary items to get us started. We can't wait to go back again to such a beautiful and well thought out venue.||||thank you both!

Everything about the hut was lovely. It was well made and had everything we needed to have a comfortable and relaxing few days away celebrating our wedding anniversary. Its own outdoor woodfired hot tub was an unusual but thoroughly enjoyable bonus. Use of their outdoor pool and jacuzzi was superb and the hosts Jamie and Lisa were amazing.

I was quite prepared for a bit of roughing it but this is far from it. I stayed in Charlotte's Hut (my friend was in Minnie). The huts are so comfortable, every need catered for (and some that you don't even know that you needed!). Plenty of logs for all the fires that you can make (for heating, for cooking, for bathing!) but all so simple and ready to go. The huts are beautifully decorated, lovely fixtures and fittings that should be in a design magazine. I made full use of the facilities, swimming in the lovely pool, relaxing in the hot tub by the pool, bathing in the tub next to the hut (as someone else has said, have a glass of wine while you wait for it to heat up). |Beautiful, tranquil surroundings, a view of the sea and no-one around. |Next time I must book a spa treatment, some of the breakfast items (although the Pantry had some bits and bobs to buy ... and ice for the ice bucket!). |It was a lovely stay, a reset for stressful lives and a moment to just smell the outdoors and be in amongst it.

We spent 3 wonderful nights here and can't think of a bad word to say! The huts have everything you could need in them, the outdoor spaces are just beautiful and the on-site pantry shop is such a great addition to it all - so handy if you fancy a little treat or you've forgotten something! Lisa and Jamie are brilliant hosts who really made us feel welcome and like nothing was too much hassle. You must book in for a massage with Doni!!! She is top notch.

Location is brilliant too - just down the lane from a (very good) pub at one end and a lovely tea room and beach at the other! Great base for walking, going into Dunster etc. We can't wait to return!

I stayed for the 2nd time already this year for a few days in the shepherd huts of Old Rectory House. Very nice again. There was a welcome package with local cider, beer, delicious bread, ham, sausages, can with beans, tomatoes, cider, milk, apple juice and butter. Had a walk to Kilve Beach and picked some extra in the honesty shop at the house. Afterwards I prepared dinner while the hot tub was heating up. All perfect.
