1. Price - Paid about £82 per night (excluding breakfast cost for comparison) which did not match the advertised avilable price of £63 (7/7/2024).

2. Train - No mention of the train screetching across the street that starts around 5am and thanksfully stops around middnight. No warning was given in the description. I know the train cant be moved but it should impact the price point! Your price point being too high!

3. Daily housekeeping - Not up to standard, day 1 as expected, day 2 no housekeeping no new towels, day 3 bed made roughly no new toilet paper or towels did replenish tea/coffee but then left cups that were unclean.

4. The room - In general the whole room was not clean and akward, the TV was tucked into the corner out of view of one side of the bed. One window seat for clearly a double bed room with a stool you could not comfortably sit together.

I would not recomend at this price point for a couple.

*One of worst stays I've had*
I'll start from the top...
Myself and my partner decided to stay here as the pictures looked nice and was in a location we wanted.
We pulled up to the hotel, only to have to walk to the sister hotel to pick up the keys, that is fine but the staff there are not very attentive and I waited for 10 minutes before someone came front of house. We were told we can get a parking permit as there is no parking but they don't have any so they will call me in an hour to pick one up! Obviously I got no call!
When we got to our room the front door doesn't close properly, you have to really force it shut otlr it stays open!
We went into the room and was absolutely disgusted at the stains everywhere. The shower door was hanging off on its rollers which actually fell on my partners foot during her shower and cut it open. Shower squirts everywhere, even over the top all over the bathroom. It stated there are hairdryers in the room, which as you can guess, there isn't! Our door handle on the inside was hanging off meaning our room was left unsafe, which my partner was really worried about!
We went to put some drinks in the communal kitchen fridge only to be greeted by a vile stench and moldy food left in there (check pictures, i also have videos which show more the extent but cant post unfortunately).
The bed was actually unsleepable as the underside that the mattress is on is caved in meaning the bed lent to one side and could feel the wood digging in my back through the mattress. The headboard is placed between the bed and the wall and isn't attached to anything!
I'm extremely disappointed and feel robbed of my money from this place, they clearly don't care about customer care, its a huge health and safety risk and I explore everyone to stay well clear of this absolutely diabolical excuse of a "homestay/ hotel".

Pros
- bed is reasonably comfy
- Bathroom looks recently refurbished
- better for a one night stay if you're here for work and on your own.

Cons
- Rooms are tiny
- bathroom is very cramped
- significant lack of surfaces in the room
- Advertised as parking available, but you have to purchase visitor passes at extra cost to yourself, and then drive around half of Portsmouth looking for a space
- moldy food left in the communal fridge
- damp on the walls in the bedroom (visible and room smelt of damp)
- plaster board pulling away from the walls and flapping in the wind
- mold would flush into the toilet bowl from the basin attached to it
- exposed piping on floor, really easy to stub your toe
- communal living area is actually just used as storage for bedding.

Overall somewhere that is better for someone that just needs a bed for the night. Do not stay here if you want somewhere comfortable over a few days.

Did not enjoy having to pick up keys from the lady Hamilton, with everyone inside staring and judging, very uncomfortable atmosphere.
Parking passes cost extra on top of room cost, and you have to drive around down a lot of Residencial streets and lanes before you find an empty spot in an approved 'zone'.
In the room, the carpet appeared dirty, mould in the alcove behind the wardrobe, shower door hanging off its hinges, black things fill the toilet when you flush, mouldy gone off food in the communal fridge, and we had to purchase our own toilet paper.
Sheets and towels appeared clean, and the bed was comfy. Ideal location right next to the shopping center and a lot of attractions. Probably good if you just need somewhere to crash for the night just to sleep

We booked to stay here for one night with booking.com.When we arrived on Sturday night,we were given room 1 which is right next to the kitchen.very smelly food was being cooked which obviously permeated into the room,we couldnt stay here so we stayed at the Keppel hotel instead.||||The description dosnt make it clear that there is a shard kitchen where people congregate and can cook what they like!||||Also room 1 backs onto a little court yard at the back and we didnt like the idea of a back door opening straight into the room! also the bins were not emptied!

It was fine for the one night. Could absolutely be cleaner though, we did have a game of "guess the stain" on the carpets and curtains. Hoover most likely hadn't been put round either - or a new working hoover needs to be purchased.
Bed was very comfy though and we slept well aside from some drunken uni students screaming in the middle of the night but that can't be helped. Bathroom was also new and mostly clean. Just don't look at anything in the room too closely....

Cheap and cheerful, clean and tidy to be able to get your head down. Locations is brilliant for the Gunwharf Quays shopping, restaurant and bars literally across the road. Parking outside for £3 a day. Breakfast included at sister hotel 3 mins walk around the corner which was fantastic

The old victory house was fine for an overnight stay but it seemed to be somewhere where men working in the area might use until the job is finished. The room was clean and tidy but basic and there was a shared kitchen if you needed to use it. The young lad that we picked the keys up from was very helpful.
