We visited Olio last night for our wedding anniversary, and if I could give them more than 5 stars, I would!
The venue is gorgeous, cosy, and comfortable. The curved walls give you the feeling of being more intimate and private, although it was busy.
The staff here are special. They welcome you as if they've known you for years. They treat you as if you are the only people in there and are attentive. They are very professional but fun at the same time.
Service was very fast! Our food was divine. It's the best gluten-free Italian I have ever tasted. The pasta was so soft and perfectly cooked, which is no easy feat with gluten-free pasta. I could not find one fault with this restaurant and left feeling extremely satisfied and cared for. Olio, thank you for a wonderful time. We look forward to many more!

This is just one of those restaurants where everything just hits the spot. The food was amazing. Real Italian food, good ingredients, fresh and cooked to perfection 👌

The service was great and staff were very attentive to your needs. In a lovely setting off the green near Writtle, with views of the lake. You would struggle to find fault.

I rarely give a 5* rating for everything, but in this case, I had to. Myself and my husband both said we couldn't wait to return. We had 3 courses and 3 drinks each, so for the price and quality, it was really good value too!

Exceptional service, as always. Friendly staff, and incredibly accommodating. Steak (pictured first) was wonderful, cooked medium rare and accompanied by peppercorn sauce. Chocolate soufflé was equally as wonderful, and my dad even got a surpise birthday treat for his 70th!

I can honestly say this is THE best restaurant… we dine there regularly and the food is amazing! Complimented by friendly attentive staff who are great with children or if you are just out for a romantic meal or with friends. If you haven’t been then I strongly recommend. Thanks to Olio’s and the staff for being fantastic in every way.

This place is incredible. The food is just perfect, and the service is great. Popped in for a Thursday night dinner and was very impressed with the whole experience. The staff are very attentive and the food turn around was very quick even when the venue got busier - will definitely be back!

Lovely Atmosphere, and the waiters and the staff were all very friendly and highly attentive.

The food and pasta was all very fresh and all home made.

Each of the dishes we had were absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend coming to here for a special occasion.

The restaurant is very near to the main green in Writtle and a Free Car Park is nearby.

I will definitely be eating here again.
