I visited Origins with my girlfriend and we were treated to fantastic food and service. Our waiters were polite and attentive with a great attention to detail. It’s clear that they are in a brilliant learning environment to develop their skills.

The starter - a leek, potato and parmesan soup was rich and comforting. The main - aubergine served with a rich, well balanced sauce and an accompaniment of potato and veg was delicious and well cooked. My only criticism is it was a lot of aubergine and could have done with a little extra flavouring in the cooking but was lovely nonetheless. The desert - baked custard with a crunchy topping of granola, ginger and gin poached rhubarb was superb - smooth, delicate and beautifully flavoured.

The Hereford gin was also lovely and well priced.

All in all, brilliant value for money and fantastic food and service. Will definitely be back again to try the next menu. Well done all!

I hadn't been since covid and was very disappointed. Gone was the white tablecloth and silver service. Fine dining was out of the window. I took friends who were disappointed as I had rated Origins way above what now exists. The food was acceptable but my friend had gristle in her pork, tough turkey and hard pastry on her mince pie.The service was poor and no better than I get in my local pub. We expected much better. So disappointed

Had a 3 course meal today.
Fantastic food.
Lovely atmosphere.
Very friendly waiting on staff, couldn't fault anything.
Highly recommended, so much so we have booked again already for next month.

Had a delicious afternoon tea here today. Really tasty sandwiches and nice cake selection. Staff were friendly and accommodating to the two babies who were with us - even bringing them each a biscuit to enjoy. Will definitely visit again.

The food was so good, and it was the most interesting pudding I have eaten in my life. Was £19 for 3 courses, and had complimentary mulled wine, mince pies, coffee and crackers! I would give it 5 stars but obviously this is with students in training, so the service is a little clunky, but they are learning and it doesn't take away from the great food!

Took my mum for a meal on tuesday for a special treat, the food was delicious, the students worked very hard and it was a lovely atmosphere in there . We left a generous tip which the tutor and student's were very grateful and explained what the tip money is used for so we were very impressed . Thanks for a lovely afternoon x

We went to the Welsh theme night and the food was amazing. The young lady who's night it was politely introduced herself to us and her passion for food and for Wales was infectious.
Would love to see where she goes in the future . A premier experience.
