Extremely Disappointing Stay – Will Not Return

Our experience at OYO Studiotel was very disappointing, and we definitely won’t be returning. When we arrived, we simply picked up the keys and went straight out to explore Great Yarmouth, so we didn’t check the room right away.

Later that evening, when we returned, we were shocked at the condition of the room. The beds looked like someone had already slept in them, the showers hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guests, the floors were sticky, and the rubbish bins were still full. It was very clear that the room hadn’t been cleaned at all.

We raised our concerns at reception, and they offered to move us to another room. Sadly, there wasn’t much improvement. The new room had two bedrooms, and when we opened the door, one of the beds looked like someone had just left — bedding messy and unchanged. Again, it was obvious no cleaners had been in.

Eventually, we were given clean bedding, and I had to change it all myself. We were too tired after a long day out and just wanted to sleep.

We also spoke to other guests who had similar experiences. Some of them had stayed here before and said it used to be much better, but things have clearly gone downhill since the change in ownership.

This was honestly the dirtiest place we’ve ever stayed. We will not be coming back, and we cannot recommend it to anyone.

It's in a great location, a short walk to the beach and good places to eat. I loved the small kitchen area which was very convenient with small kids. The bed was clean and comfortable.

Problems;

The toilet seat was loose and didn't flush very well.

There was no mat on the bathroom floor, so it would get very wet and messy very quickly, so we had to put towels down to stop the shower water going everywhere

I also found out thay they did not clean on short stay, we were there for 2 nights and with kids coming back from the beach, the room was full of sand, if they even hoovered once for us it would have made the stay more comfortable.

Everything was perfect during our stay. The rooms are clean and well looked after. The managers or owners kept in contact throughout our stay and we extended our stay at short notice. They accommodated our every request and were kind caring and considerate the whole time. Tea and coffee were supplied which isnt normally in apartments. We will definitely book again next year! Thank you. It was lovely.

Great location, with easy access to the town , food, pier. The rooms were clean and the managing staff I spoke to over the phone and on text were very helpful. It's great how this self service check in and hotel stay worked. Get in touch with the hotel , not the call centre when you book. Parking was on street with a £3 a day permit. I found a space just outside the hotel in zone A. Rooms were clean. There are no lifts but it's only one flight of stairs. Will book again..

Accessible room was spacious, with wetroom shower and seat.
The only issue was you have to book a disabled access room via the central booking number. They reported having line issues that day so I had to call back and forth several times between them and the hotel directly in order to make the booking which took over an hour!
When able to speak directly with the hotel they were very nice.
It would be great if this hotel could have an online option to request an accessible room - even if that required a call back from the hotel to confirm requirements.
Otherwise a comfortable stay close to seafront, restaurants and bars.

Very nice for a short stay. Location is perfect. No storage in room, some very noisy floor boards and no window in our room. It did have a skylight in the kitchenette area but had to have lights on at any time of the day to see. It did however have amazing aircon and in the UK thats definitely a luxury. Also no lock on bathroom.
The guy there that (i think) runs it it really nice. Very helpful, and recieved a text message every day asking if I needed anything. The main thing that is needed is an airer to hang some wet clothes and towels.
The hotel is also very wheelchair friendly and easy to move wheelchair around.
Stayed just myself and disabled teenage son and felt very safe inside.
Overall very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning. Positives far outweigh any negatives, prices was also very good especially for August.

Good location, rooms clean, modern deco, self contain studio flat! Excellent, efficient and easy to check in/out, plenty of information from OYO regarding entry codes, point of contact info provided via text, in case of any issues.
Shower warm not hot. Double beds are too small for a couple and soft, I could definitely feels the springs.
Otherwise excellent room services/facilities. The hallway needs a touch up, both flooring and painting not in a terrible state at all, however compared to the quality of the rooms it's looks shabby.
Would definitely stay again.

Very Good space, we had room 105 - ground floor - handy as we are older, good there is no window in the bedroom space but there is one in the kitchen area. Everything you need in the kitchen, grateful for washing up liquid and J cloth. All very clean. Could do with a bedside light... We used the reserved parking - good no searching for spaces. We found there was always someone on the helpline/text line - very helpful. It wasn't cheap but did everything it promised. Great Yarmouth OYO very close to beach - Pier etc ...
