*Unsanitary Bed: The bed was in an appalling state, appearing dirty and extremely worn. It looked as though it had been discarded from the street. Additionally, there were spider webs, including one hanging over the bed.
*Presence of Spiders: Several spider webs and spiders were present, indicating a lack of proper cleaning and hygiene.
*Power Outages: There were several power cuts while I was showering, which was both inconvenient and potentially unsafe.
*Lack of Basic Amenities: The room lacked essential items such as hand wash and tissues.
*Broken Furniture: A broken garden chair had been placed inside the room, adding to the overall sense of neglect.
*Unfinished Yard View: The view from the room was of an unfinished yard cluttered with construction materials.

Where do I start?!|Upon arrival there was one parking space in the carpark which took some manoeuvring to get into. |The staff member was rude and abruptly said ‘You owe me some money!’ after finding our reservation on the till screen…stating this infront of the group of locals. |£300 for the disgusting room we stayed in for a complete rip off!|We were greeted by a dirty pair of men’s underwear by the single bed, a filthy toilet brush, even dirtier bathroom floor which looked like it’s never seen a mop! |The walls were grubby with head grease above the headboards, paint missing, grubby furniture and carpets full of ground in dust and dirt. |The tea/coffee making facilities were ridiculous, two mugs, one spoon, no milk and opened (!) teabags randomly put into a bowl! |The carpark filled with lots of people on Friday night which was really loud and the smell of weed came from the smoking benches near the Stables entrance. I expect it could be very intimidating for anyone arriving late, walking their dog or heading back to the hotel from an evening out. |We decided to leave a day earlier as it was better to drive the 7 hour journey home than stay another night in this complete dive of a B&B!|Needless to say, we didn’t sample any food on our trip. |Avoid at all costs and stay somewhere clean, friendly, welcoming and worth the money!

Fabulous location ,just minutes walk to the town. Nice looking court yard. Never met the owner but the lady who dealt with us was very friendly. No breakfast even though it states breakfast. Room 7 was dirty and stuffy. One tiny window which you couldn't open, it was covered in dust and thick cobwebs. The bed filled the tiny room so just enough room to walk round the bed . The wall at side of bed was covered in foot prints. It states tea and coffee facilities, but it wasn't til the next morning when we wanted a cuppa we realised there was only one sachet of sugar and no milk but there was noone to ask that early in the morning. Later on after our walk I went in the pub and asked for milk and sugar and was given a little jug of milk and sugar in a pot no lids on either. I asked for sachets of both and was told there wasn't any. The room was that hot the milk curdled. After 2 days we decided we'd had enough even though we paid for 3 nights we came home. I did ask for a refund but was told no.

Small, musty smelling room with broken blind and stained lampshade. Bedding and towels were clean though. Unfortunately I got no sleep at all because of the person in the adjoining room speaking extremely loudly on the phone inside or to people buying drugs from him right outside my window. I reported this to the owner next morning. She apologised but said it was not her fault and gave no assurances that anything would be done about it so I checked out after just one night, preferring to lose money rather than stay any longer. Love Ripon but would never return to this hotel!

We booked bed and breakfast through booking.com but on arrival we were told that we couldn’t have breakfast unless we paid another £7.50. We showed our booking which clearly showed that actually breakfast was included, but to no avail. On our return to the hotel after an evening out, we were met with a hostile demand for payment (this was 12:45am), something normally dealt with on the morning of departure. As for the room, our room looked out onto a busy road and was very noisy, so sleeping was difficult. The bathroom didn’t have any soap and there was no privacy lock on the door. When I went to make a cup of tea on the morning I found that milk hadn’t been provided. The rooms were very basic, but adequate. On meeting up with the rest of the group on the morning they told of a similar experience. Given the attitude of the staff, the poor quality of the accommodation and the neglect of the basics in the room, I would not recommend the White Horse and will not be returning.

It was awful. The shower had a serious leak into the bedroom. An outside mat was put inserted into the water stained carpet. Cold tap doesn't turn off. The pub didn't do food. Horrible expensive experience

Worst place we have ever stopped it was filthy dust everywhere tv didn't work curtains were hanging off and absolutely filthy. toilet brush was a absolutely disgrace banisters up to the 3rd floor was hanging off room stunk of chip shop grease no parking or breakfast |that was advertised not that we wld of eaten from place it was absolutely horrendous

On arrival we thought it would be a good place to stay as the courtyard was nice with pretty potted plants that looked well cared for and secure gates but as soon as we opened the door it was very suddenly apparent it wasnt. The room stank of cigarette smoke and overall appearance was shabby. We had to keep the windows open for the entirety of the stay to try and get rid of the smell as it was quite overwhelming at first. The overall cleanliness of the room also left little to be desired.
We looked in the bathroom and was shocked to find it filthy. The toilet was absolutely disgusting, with fecal matter in the bowl of the toilet and on the seat, as well as multiple hairs in and on the shower. We mentioned this to staff and it was partially cleaned (toilet not shower) but we should not have been given the keys in the state the room was in. Very dissapointed with the stay as previous reviews are good but our experience was far from that.
The member of staff unpon check in wasn't the most welcoming and trying to find someone to speak about the bathroom being cleaned was a little difficult.
We actually ended up leaving at 7am and showered at our family's home as the shower was still not clean despite the request and we did not feel happy staying any longer than we had to or using the facilities.
We won't be returning which is a shame as we have family in the area and visit regularly and the property was very convenient to where we wanted to be. We also won't recommend to anyone to stay or even visit as we question the hygiene of the property / bar and would actually advise to avoid at all costs.
We also feel the room was very overpriced for the standard we received. We stayed in the room for as little time as possible which did not make for the relaxing trip we hoped for as it meant rushing out to use the facilities at our families home very early morning.
