We booked the stay in connection with a birthday celebration at the hotel. The staff who organised and oversaw the event for our group were fantastic. Everything was perfect. The rooms are spacious, including the bathrooms. The refurbishment of the hotel has been well-thought out - showers with proper shower trays so no wet floors, sinks that are actually big enough to use, etc. Excellent breakfast. All of the staff were professional, friendly and helpful (unlike so many places in the northeast!). I think we all left with a very favourable impression of this place.

This hotel has been fully refurbished fairly recently and part of the Auckland Castle project. It’s open for non residents for breakfast, snacks through to Dinner too. Stayed here for a lunch and it was very easily priced and well presented meal. I would recommend it for sure just for lunch. Didn’t see the hotel rooms but the public areas are very well presented meal, modern, clean and tidy and the staff very pleasant too.

Just returned home after staying at this lovely hotel for 2 nights. What a fabulous place, the hotel rooms are well appointed and spotless, having been recently refurbished, the beds are huge and comfy. The staff, especially the young ones, are very professional, helpful and knowledgeable about the surrounding areas and local attractions to visit. All the staff could not do enough for you. We had dinner in the onsite restaurant on the first night and it was excellent. The breakfast are pretty amazing too, with lots of choice on the menu, all cooked to perfection. We spent 2 days looking round Beamish Open Air Museum, which is a must go see to visit as is the spectacular Durham Cathedral. The hotel came with free unlimited passes to The Auckland Project, but unfortunately we didn’t have time to use them. But a very good excuse to return to this wonderful hotel in the near future so that we can. We would also like to go and see Kynren, which I understand is very close by. I would have no hesitation in recommending this great place to stay.

Wow sums up the experience from start to finish. Amazing room very clean infact it was spotless. Reception staff were very helpful they went above and beyond. We were checked in early, nice court yard to sit and have a drink from the well stocked bar, top quality wine. Very comfortable bed we both slept very well. Breakfast was a little hectic but we got there in the end food was just great good selection from the menu and very good quality. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thank you ?.

Great stay at the Park Head Was able to have a night cap after our evening out at a friends birthday. The breakfast was outstanding home cooked by Ian a trained chef and who was on duty the evening before. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The rooms in the hotel tastefully decorated and really good nights sleep. Fantastic stay will be back.

A lovely stay|We, along with my Mum & our Jack Russell, were well welcomed last Sunday. After a day of house hunting around Darlington, this was a lovely hotel sunday stopover. The rooms were very well appointed & quiet. We took the Sunday offer which included a lovely evening meal with the best choice of vegetables we have seen!! The staff kindly put the vegetables separately as we don't like to be over faced with food. We were looked after very well. Breakfast was super - the hot selection has portions that are very generous alongside the continental choice. We will return & maybe take the golf option. Thanks to all the staff who were welcoming & professional.

Imagine an upmarket corporate hotel that's got the feel of a family run establishment, that's the impression that I got.
The staff could not have been better :friendly happy and attentive, (Sasha, your lovely!).
The food was fabulous, desserts addictive.

We feel very fortunate to have found this hotel. The room was well laid out, very clean, and comfortable. However, the thing which really stood out was the friendliness of the people working there, they made a real difference. Thank you for a great stay.
