From start to finish, we had a fabulous stay at Parkhead. James met us with his welcoming charm and wit. We were felt very much like old friends reunited with him and Angela. We were right at home in our rooms, which were clean and comfortable and delightfully appointed. Breakfast was delicious! Between James' excellent and generous cooking, and my insistence on clearing my plate, there was hardly a need for another meal during the day.|The grounds provided an enjoyable stroll, and we had good directions to bring us through a walking tour of lovely landscapes, views, and insider peeks into the makings of "Outlander". Highly recommended stay!

James and Angela were the icing on the cake to a fantastic BnB. Stayed 3 nights on a 2 week trip around Scotland and was such a slice of paradise. The grounds are spectacular and just a treat to be in the center of that history and tradition. Close enough to Edinburgh to enjoy the city and the next day you can lose yourself in a country walk right at the estate. Best of both worlds. Most spacious we stayed at and the hospitality was genuine and above and beyond! Outlander fans.... just book already!

Such a great stay. Angela and James were wonderful hosts. The breakfasts were outstanding, and the cupboard and refrigerator were stocked for a quick snack.
James was very helpful in pointing us to various sights. For the Outlander fans this is the place to be. When we booked we had never watched Outlander... We will watch when we get home.

We opted to stay here for our final night, being close proximity to the Edinburgh airport, after tourning Edinburgh, Western Highlands and Isle of Skye for 9 days. Looking retrospect, I'd opt to not stay in downtown Edinburgh at all but would have stayed here and taking public transportation in for day trips. James was a great host and we loved talking with him about Outlander series (being filmed in the local area). We stayed in the 1st floor suite which was very large with multiple rooms. The rural country road is very quiet, with no traffic at all for a very peaceful night sleep. Its a perfect quaint and quiet B&B in a nice setting. Highly recommend.

Our stay at Parkhead House was incredibly special. We recently spent two weeks in scotland, which included seven hotels. Parkhead House was one of our favorites. It was so charming, especially with the open fields in the back which included sheep and deer. James and Angela made us feel like cherished guests. The breakfast was wonderful and our own table was set beautifully. I love that James came to the door to great us. He has a wonderful connection to Outlander and I cant think of a better place to stay if you want to see Lollybroch! It was a perfect, homelike retreat.
Thank you James and Angela for be such wonderful hosts.

When you arrive, the signposts show you the way to key locations from the filming of the "Outlander" series, and the parlor has multiple pictures of the author and the actors with the proprietors. The parlor is comfy, a living room feeling with overstuffed chairs and couches. Out the windows, you can see both sheep and long-antlered deer grazing. The bedroom is sumptuous, with lots of touches such as hot water bottles, slippers, and robes. The overall feel is that you are visiting family and they are really happy to see you. Our last trip to Scotland ended here, but our next trip will start at the Parkhead House.

We had a wonderful one night stay at Parkhead House in June. Everything from the location, the breakfast and the kindness of our hosts made this stay one of our favorites in Scotland. I loved being so close to Midhope Castle (Lallybroch from Outlander). James and Angela shared so many interesting facts about Outlander and the surrounding area. I only wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back for a longer stay! |The Hermsteins

Stayed at Parkhead House for 2 wonderful nights in March. James was the perfect host and tour guide. The accommodation was spotless, cosy & comfortable. Plenty of choice for our breakfast each morning. Parkhead House is a few miles out of town and both nights we drove into South Queensferry for dinner. Would love to stay again when we next visit Edinburgh.
