Parsons House is a beautiful old stone build, 2 room b&b.|The host David has lovingly and sympathetically restored the listed cottage.|We were warmly greeted by David with fresh coffee and shortbread and the promise of tea service at any time on request. Whilst at first it felt odd not to have our own tea making facilities, I have to say at no time did this matter. We were very well looked after and happy to receive such lovely comforts.|Our room was spacious and very comfortable with a great large bed and fabulous pillows. The bath tub was amazing!|Breakfast on both mornings of our peaceful weekend was tasty and full of quality local produce. I'd recommend the Breakfast Trifle.|The village of Hartington was quaint, we ate out in both pubs which were a stones throw walk. Lovely food at The Devonshire. Consider booking before you're stay as it gets busy.|The local village store stocked lovely fresh bakes.|Parsons house is a great walking Base with a large carpark around the corner being the start of many trails.|It was an ideal place to peacefully relax and explore the peaks.|I was in awe of the quirky additions and artwork inside the cottage. David has obviously worked very hard making this place homely and inviting.|You won't be disappointed.

We had a lovely 1 night stay at Parsons House. Our original booking was for 2 nights but due to snow and ice we decided to leave early for safety which we were sad to do.
The hosts were warm and welcoming, providing helpful tips on local walks and travel home. Coffee and biscuits were plentiful and always on offer when re-arriving back to the hotel.
Breakfast was delicious, yogurt, honey and granola to start, with tasty home cooked breakfast of bacon and eggs and homemade marmalade.
We stayed in the ground floor bedroom which was beautiful and original decoration.
Highly recommend this B&B and we're planning to go back later in the year.

Absolutely loved our 2 night stay here. ||Rooms are really cool and authentic for a building from 1750.||David is a superb host who can’t do enough for you during your stay.||The breakfast is fresh, local produce cooked perfectly. ||Great cat to greet you too!||Will be staying again soon.

What an amazing, chilled place to stay! Just 2 rooms, beautifully decorated, with lots of little extra touches to make your stay easy and comfortable. David is a great host, making sure you have everything you need, cups of tea offered whenever you come in - even left outside your door in the morning before breakfast, which by the way is plentiful and cooked to perfection. Really loved staying here.

This was certainly a different B & B. The room was comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for David. Tea & Coffee making facilities were not in the room, but each time we came in David offered us Tea or Coffee and always with shortbread. The shower was a rain shower, overhead and we could not really use because of ear problems, so had strip washes. There was a room with a bath and if we came again would request that. The shower and toilet had obviously been built into the room that was there before and the sides of the shower was wooden, which was different. Everything was clean and David and his partner gave us good local information. You can park your car in the small drive. The village is lovely and the Devonshire pub well worth a visit for drinks and or food. The decor was interesting and imaginative. There was no TV in the room, which after dinner we missed, but I guess some would not. Well worth a try if you are staying in this beautiful village and was very reasonable priced.

We stayed for 2 nights and can honestly say this is the most quirky wonderful b&B we have ever stayed in and loved it.|David was very friendly and as there aren't facilities in the rooms to make drinks he will offer them anytime with the best tea/coffee and shortbread biscuits.|We had the ground floor room with a fabulous deep bath (no shower) which was heaven after walking!|Our bed was huge and very comfortable and the room was unique. It was good to have just a radio and get away from TV for a couple of days.|Breakfast was delicious. We don't eat meat so had smoked trout the first morning with perfectly poached eggs and tomatoes & sourdough toast . We also we had a breakfast trifle to start which is a must!|Overall we would highly recommend a stay at The Parsons

David is lovely. And love his home. He is super friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is delicious- compote, cooked breakfast- so good.
David is very close to both pubs. Bookings are essential! The Devonshire was very tasty but be prepared to wait, even when booked. I feel for the pubs- short staffed.

We have just spent a lovely 2 night stay at Parsons. No WiFi (by choice) the owners were absolutely lovely and after a long night for me being poorly after eating out they couldn't be more accommodating to make sure I was OK and had what I needed. Can't thank you both enough for everything. It's definitely what we needed
