Although the building and rooms were great, there were a number of things that really disappointed. A twin room for 1 night cost me £247 for bed only. There was a large wedding going on and so at times the small public areas were full. The Shakespeare bar was inadequate for a hotel of this size. The beer choices were poor with only an IPA and cider on tap. The bottle of corona I had was not cold. The bar menu was limited and we has the Mediterranean platter which was OK, but the pizza was very obviously not fresh, so a frozen pizza at a hotel of this supposed quality and size was below standard. Breakfast was another £22 per person and we eat at 10.00 which was 30 minutes before the end. 2 of the 6 hot choices were empty, and I finished the scrambled eggs. Tea took 15 minutes before I managed to get one of the 5 or 6 staff to bring me and my daughters hot chocolate was sitting on the side until I had to go up and get it. She had a small waffle that was inedible it was rock hard, again unfortunately not fresh so frozen and reheated. The receptionist was very nice and when I mentioned I was underwhelmed offer to call a manager but I did not have time. Overall the staff have a higher priority on their tasks than the customer. The head chef needs to reflect on their choices of food quality and, if price driven, the management need to balance the tarrif and delivery. Sorry Pendley, could do better.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Pendley Manor. The staff were all very professional whilst also warm and friendly. ||The extensive gardens were beautiful and interesting with many peacocks living there. ||Our room was big, nicely decorated, and very comfortable, with a sizeable sitting area and large television. The bathroom, which was quite small, was modern and well appointed, with a good-sized and effective shower.||There was tea, coffee, etc. and we appreciated the bottled still and sparkling water in the fridge.||I could not work out how to use the heating/aircon controls in the room!||The full length mirror was situated in the passageway between the bathroom and wardrobes, making it a rather narrow place for my partner to make up, etc. A desk with a mirror above would have been more useful, I think. ||We used the pool but not the spa. The pool was of a modest size and there was a comfortable lounge area around it. When we were there, that area was quite adequate, but in more crowded times the area would probably be a bit small The changing rooms were rather far away from the pool, in the spa area.||We had an excellent dining experience - the menu was varied and the items we chose were of high quality. The restaurant staff were, as everywhere in the hotel, friendly and attentive.||Breakfast was mostly buffet style, with a good range of hot and cold items on display. Poached eggs, etc., could be ordered from a menu. Breakfast was until 9:30am, so I was surprised when our waitress told us soon after that time that the buffet was closing. I did think that it would be reasonable to keep the buffet running for another half hour or longer, for those who arrived near to the advertised end time.||Overall, we had a lovely, comfortable stay at Pendley Manor and would recommend it to anyone who would like a spa break, or just a break in comfortable surroundings.

Great overnight family stay, suite was spacious, the pool was quiet and staff were friendly. The grounds and halls are nice with lots of interesting peacocks strutting around. Breakfast buffet served us well before a couple of quick 25 min treatments. Would recommend for a quick and satisfying stay.

Pendley Manor provided us the perfect venue for a 320 people wedding reception for two weddings we were celebrating this year. The staff, service, bedrooms, and breakfasts (following a hang over were!) all exceptional. Would highly recommend the hotel for parties/long weekend stays or just summer picnics.

Pendley Manor is set on really beautiful grounds, with a charming manor and plenty of peacocks roaming around. We really enjoyed the classic English continental breakfast, which was a great start to the day.
Our room was spacious, the bed was comfy, and we slept well, though the layout of the bathroom was a bit awkward, especially the placement of the toilet. On the plus side, the hotel has a sauna and pool, which added to the relaxing experience.
The staff were very nice—when we asked for an extra blanket, it was brought to us promptly, and the front desk was helpful. However, the WiFi was terrible, constantly dropping, which was frustrating and meant we had to rely mostly on our phone data.
Overall, a nice stay but with some room for improvement.

Had a wonderful stay at Pendley Manor, the room was immaculate, spacious and the bed very comfortable. We had ordered a picnic which we had in the room as the weather was damp outside, it was delicious. |Communication before and after our stay were all courteous and professional.|All staff were friendly and the hotel accommodated our request for early check in. We had to leave early due to an personal emergency and once again staff was very helpful. We hope to come back in the not too distant future.

What a beautiful hotel! From start to finish the attention to detail from the staff was impeccable. I've been lucky to go for a meeting, awards night and an overnight stay and the peacocks never disappoint! Beautifully nestled within Tring and super quiet, this is the perfect retreat for a couple or someone on their own to take a break from everyday life. Can't wait to return.

My daughters wedding was at Pendley on the 21st September and we had a wonderful experience. The setting was beautiful and the organisation was first class. Our wedding planner Megan Camfield was so helpful and her help and advice made both the planning before the wedding and the organisation on the actual day go very smoothly.|The canapes, the wedding breakfast and the evening buffet were very good and were all served very professionally.|I would highly recommend Pendley Manor for a relaxing beautiful wedding experience.
