From the moment I made the reservation, I felt the warmth of the owners all the way in California! As this was our first trip to Scotland, and of course, the Isle of Mull, I had a number of questions regarding the island and the area. Fiona would always respond to me immediately with answers to my questions and with valuable suggestions.||My husband and I spent three nights at Pennygate. We had a beautiful room, the Iona, that overlooked the front grassy lawn and beyond to the water. The room was beautifully appointed, spacious, and the bathroom was truly perfect with a large shower, large rain shower head, fluffy towels, and bath robes. The entire room, including the bathroom, was contemporary styled, and looked brand new.||Breakfast was included with a menu to fit everyone’s taste. They are accounted special dietary requirements of gluten free and low sodium. As coffee lovers, we were thrilled with the amazing French Press coffee every morning! The food was truly delicious.||We had dinner there two nights, something that I highly recommend one book ahead as the restaurant is small and is well known. Again, the meal offerings addressed most special dietary requirements. The meals were simply delicious!||Pennygate had a beautiful living room area with views out to the water. It’s a wonderful place to relax, read and meet fellow guests.||Pennygate is perfectly located on the island and a 3 minute drive to the ferry that crosses to Oban. Parking is on site and is ample. ||Again, hospitality and warmth enveloped us throughout our visit. We truly loved our time at Pennygate and on Mull!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Pennygate Lodge. The hotel is charming and beautifully maintained, with exceptionally comfortable and pleasant rooms that made us feel right at home.||||The food was a real highlight — each dish of locally sourced products was delicious, thanks to David’s expert cooking. ||||Tony and Fiona, the owners, are outstanding hosts. Their warmth and friendliness set the tone for the entire experience. They were always happy to share their extensive knowledge of Mull and offer fantastic recommendations that made our trip memorable.||||Agne, who works in the front of house, is another real gem. She strikes the perfect balance between being friendly, welcoming, and thoroughly professiona and is a true asset to the team.||||Overall, Pennygate Lodge is a perfect base for exploring Mull, and its genuine hospitality makes it stand out.

What a fabulous place to stay! Super comfortable accommodation with fine dining in the restaurant downstairs. Our bedroom and ensuite had stunning views over the water, a lovely king-size bed and copious hot water for bath and shower. |The cooked breakfasts were delicious and set us up for a day exploring Mull. Dinner at the restaurant was a real treat, starting with a local G&T in the lounge. Thank you Fiona & Tony, our stay was perfect!

Mull oh Mull so good they should name it twice. No where better to stay than beautiful Pennygate lodge. If you have travelled straight over from the mainland on the ferry , Pennygate is just a two minute drive from the ferry terminal. The location could not be better . The views from the front lounge and dining room are wonderful. Fiona and Tony make you very welcome. We loved the location as it gave us a chance to explore the south of the island. Our hosts were so helpful with their local knowledge. We enjoyed truly wonderful food on the island but perhaps our best food was in Pennygate. Both dinner and breakfast were divine .|Plan well in advance to ensure you get into this little gem.

Disclaimer: we didn’t stay here, only stopped by for dinner but it was one of the best meals we had during our 2+ weeks in Scotland. The menu is small, but each dish was cooked to perfection - fresh ingredients and very flavourful. The desserts and cheese board were also good too. Tony (the owner) had a great wine list and gave exceptional recommendations. The small dining room allows for an intimate dining experience and personable interactions with the super friendly staff.

A wonderful situation looking over attractive gardens to the harbour with glorious sunsets. We had a warm welcome and the attention to detail was first class. Everyone went the extra mile to ensure that our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. The food was first class at breakfast and dinner, using local ingredients (especially seafood) with clever finishing touches. It is not the cheapest hotel on the Island of Mull but it may be the best.

The welcome and personal touches are just great. The amenities are of high quality which all leads to a very relaxing visit. Breakfast was both cold 'help yourself' and made to order and was very good. We dined here two nights and enjoyed the varied menu and very generous portions. Don't hesitate to book!

Perfect stay. Excellent location. Super clean and comfortable. Tony was the most gracious host. Food was also top notch. I highly recommend and we will definitely be back. We stayed in the Iona room,I want to recreate that bathroom in my next house!
