Gary and his team make for a welcoming change and are superb hosts to a fantastic traditional pub. The drinks and ale selections are superb and the food choices classic and quintessential British pub! Easily one of the best Pubs on the island and a must visit place in Cowes. Both tourists and locals frequent and added bonus of watching Sports on their many TV’s. You won’t be disappointed.

Went for a quick bite to eat to escape the cold. Fabulous relaxed atmosphere, the owner is an absolute gent, the food was incredible, we had lamb koftas and burgers, could not fault it at all!
Beers were fresh, place was lovely!
They also showed the footy which was a nice surprise! Highly recommend to all

5 stars for its selection of low alcohol beers including Adnams Ghost Ship. 3 stars for average service on a not very busy Saturday night. 1 star for a stodgy bottomed Rabbit and Bacon pie in which I struggled to taste the rabbit or the bacon, with all potentially good veg [sugar snap peas, carrots and new potatoes] all sadly very overcooked. My friends were polite about their different choices, but clearly unexcited …

Always visit this pub when in Cowes. Opens at 11am and has a good selection of beers. Friendly cosy atmosphere inside. A good boozer to start the day in.

I probably shouldn't be writing this awfully positive review as it might irritate them but I must say that the service was amazing. Super friendly bartender and the gent that brought our food was very attentive. It's a really solid pub and I recommend a visit for beer and food. I had two meals from the daily specials (I was starving) and both were excellent. Colleague of mine swears by their homemade lasagna and apparently compares it to his own recepie. Try it yourself!

Back in the I.O.W. again this year. Some of the places from last year have gone down hill, so we thought we'd try some new ones.
What a find. Beautiful food, the wife said it was the tastiest veggie burger she'd ever had and can vouch for the crispy chicken.
Nice staff too. We'll be back.
