Our home away from home...The Pilgrims Barn is a lovely B&B, in a tastefully converted historic Essex barn. The owners managed to perfectly retain the character of the old building ,while offering guests all the modern comfort. Beds are extremely comfortable, kitchen and shower are fine, Wifi is stable and fast. Lots of information about the area is provided. Its location is great! Beautiful countryside on the doorstep with endless options for walking (with or without a dog) and cycling or visiting picturesque villages. The lovely private garden and terrace are a bonus. Breakfast is a total treat and the loveliest hosts imaginable, make you do not want to leave the place or at least to definitely return. Which is exactly what we do. Next summer for the 4th time.

This delightful converted barn was a pleasure to stay in. It has all the modern features which you need, yet retains it's 'old-worldly' charm. The owners are delightful and I have many happy memories of my stays there as a constant visitor over 4 years.

We have been visiting this B&B nearly every year for 7 years. Absolutely fantastic hosts, very accomodating and delicious cooked breakfasts. The barn is comfy and cosy with everything you need, the garden is beautiful and there are endless choices of local walks. We will keep going back again and again.

Amazing self contained studio apartment, 10 minutes stroll to the local pub, the Rodney, if you are staying in the winter time, bring an electric blanket or hot water bottle, and a tourch to light your way home from the pub. Sally and John are friendly hosts.
