Our first time visiting York and we’re so glad we stayed here! Jack and Ellie were so nice and helpful, and the room / food / amenities were perfect. There is a bus stop literally right outside the front door, but we walked into the city center every day - very nice, residential, totally safe walk. Will absolutely stay here if we’re in York again!

My friend and I visited for 2 nights at Pinfold Cottage, staying on a Friday and Saturday night. We met Jack, the owner on arrival, and our welcome was so warm and friendly. The cottage is delightful and perfectly located on the high street. It's close to shops, bars, and restaurants. Bus stop right outside, and the journey into York is very short. We walked along the river, suggested by Jack, which only took about 30 minutes and was so lovely.|We had a cosy room with a shower that served us well. Breakfast was of a help yourself variety with a fine selection of just about anything you think of to set you up for the day. Jack & Ellie certainly went above and beyond with an extra selection of snacks and drinks that you could help yourself to whenever you fancied. We took advantage of Jack's recommendations of visiting Spark for food and drinks. The Blue Balkan, Polish restaurant, and the Mad Alice tour, we loved them all and can also recommend. We visited York Minster and so many fabulous bars, |The House of Trembling Madness|The Golden Fleece|The Evil Eye|Guy Fawkes|The Bluebell|Valhalla.|Kennedy's was where we danced our legs off in the evening.|The Shambles was, of course , a must visit, and I had a gorgeous egg, cress & black pudding granary sandwich at Bennets's. |Cakes at The Old York Tea room definitely deserve a mention. |There is so much to do, and Pinfold Cottage is the perfect base to do it from, I can't recommend a visit here enough, and I would for sure go back again. |Thank you, Jack & Ellie, for such a memorable visit. ❤️

A Home Away From Home.

After many visits here, I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the rooms feel homely with all the comforts you could want. Jack and Ellie are always happy to help with recommendations—whether you're after a scenic running route, a great breakfast spot, or ideas for daily excursions. The breakfast is delicious, with fresh fruit served daily. Pinfold Cottage is conveniently located just a short bus ride from York, making it a perfect base for exploring the area.

So glad we stayed here. Jack and Ellie are the nicest people, the room and amenities/food were perfect, and it was so convenient to get around. There’s a bus stop literally outside the front door, or we walked into the City Center every day - super safe, nice residential area.

Such a charming B&B, the help yourself breakfast was amazing. And we really appreciated being able to get snacks at any time of the day or night! Our host could not have been more kind and helpful. There is a bus stop right outside with frequent buses into the city centre, including a park-and-ride bus from the train station.

A lovely guesthouse on the outskirts of York - 35 mins walk to city or hop on a bus as the bus stop is just outside! Jack is a fantastic host, nothing is too much trouble and he has a vast knowledge of the area! The continental breakfast is a vast array of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, bread, croissants and juices and is self service.
Excellent customer service, well equipped bedroom, cosy and comfortable bed and a very reasonable price.
Highly recommend and will definitely return!

The guesthouse was a quaint little place conveniently located on the bus route 10mins from the city centre. Jack was very helpful and accommodating. A very relaxed atmosphere and the room was comfortable. We will definitely come back again.

Pinfold Cottage, is a very nice 4 bedded guest house just on the outskirts of the city centre. It is just a 5 minute ride on the bus. The bus stop into town is less than 1 minute walk and the bus stop for the return is outside the house.
Parking is very important for us and there is a space for all guests.
It's a wonderful house, clean, tidy and fresh looking.
Jack and Ellie are fantastic hosts. They couldn't have done anymore to make our stay more comfortable. They helped us plan our day and gave restaurant recommendations. They had maps and other local information to hand and were very knowledgeable of many of the sites.
The room was a good size, comfy bed, nice bathroom and wardrobe space. Tea/Coffee machine, water and soft drinks in the room.
Breakfast was continental style. Plenty of cereal, pastries, bread and fresh fruit. All very nice.
We felt very welcome and very well looked after.
Overall, it's a great place to stay. Very comfortable, close to the city centre and amazing hosts.
We will definitely be back to stay and would recommend this place to everyone. It was first class.
