My wife and I live on the island but decided to have a 4 night break in Shanklin. Helen & Dave (the owners) & Richard were welcoming, friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The facilities , cleanliness and service could not be better with a delicious , satisfying breakfast served on the terrace overlooking the seafront. It is ideally situated on the esplanade with restaurants & bus stop close by. We cannot wait to return, thanking you, David & Margaret.

It's truly difficult, no..... It's absolutely impossible to find and write ANYTHING average or poor about this guesthouse.|From the booking process, arrival and meeting everyone it's just a wonderful experience.|The location is perfect. Right on the beach with plenty of parking. As a disabled driver, parking availability is hugely important.|Every thing has been thought of by Helen & Dave... I mean EVERYTHING!||Sadly we should have booked for a week but after 4 days our trip was terminated. ||As Arnie says " I'll be back" (in an Austrian accent)

We have just spent a few days at The Pink Guest House and cannot speak highly enough of the relaxing and comfortable stay with our hosts, Helen and Dave. The room was spotless with a lovely view of the sea front, super breakfasts and felt totally spoilt. Hope to stay here again and would definitely recommend.

The Pink Beach Guest House was just perfect for us! We were "between cruises" in Southampton so want to spend a few days on the Isle of Wight visiting some pals we had not seen in many years. My husband is recovering from a broken hip, so using a cane and not yet at 100%. I was nervous about how he would do in a B&B, especially with stairs -- but Helen and Dave made it easy! ||Our room (#2) on the 1st floor (not ground level for you Americans who don't speak the King's English) was up one steep and narrow flight of stairs, but the railing was solid, and Hubby managed it like a trooper! ||Our room was just WONDERFUL! |- Fabulous view of the ocean|- Comfortable chair by the window to relax with a book while enjoying the ocean breeze|- Comfortable bed with twinkle lights adding to the romantic ambiance|- Tea/coffee setup with yummy cookies refreshed daily|- Outstanding shower with great water pressure.|- Small fridge with fresh filtered water refreshed daily|- Filtered water in the hallway: I drink a LOT of water!|- Big wardrobe for hanging clothes with an iron!||Breakfast: YUM! Classic, full English breakfast (sort of) made to order. Every night we filled out a breakfast "order" sheet. and you pick a time slot between 8:30 and 9:30. You can order eggs multiple ways... fruit, English bacon, sausage (1 or 2), mushrooms, beans, tomato, blood pudding, etc. Also, toast, cereal, juices... The "Order sheet" is BRILLIANT. I love PARTS of the English breakfast, but ALL the options are just too much! This allows you to pick what you want and reduces waste. Plus, every day, I could try something different. Breakfast was always served steaming hot and just as requested. And with the time slots method, service can be more efficiently managed. All good!||Helen and Dave/hospitality: Ya' can't beat it! Both were just so helpful and wonderful. Helen called my Billy "My Darling" and he fell in love. She spoiled him rotten offering him coffee on the porch, checking to make sure he was ok, and slipping him extra cookies. Dave carried our heavy bags like they were nothing. Dave was also the breakfast chef and I wanted to bring him home with us! They were wonderful!||Our friends came by the guest house multiple times to pick us up, drop off. They were welcomed into the guest house like old friends! We asked if we could invite our pals for breakfast the last morning and Helen responded "OF COURSE, my darlings!" with a tone making it clear this was a GREAT idea and not at all an inconvenience. And our pals were beyond delighted with the breakfast.||Overall Ambiance and amenities: |- The breakfast room is warm and welcoming with windows overlooking the beach and clock tower.|- There is a swapping library (yes, we left a couple of books). |- The front porch with comfortable chairs and tables is a gift. |- The location directly across the street from the beach is amazing. |- A parking lot (for a fee I think) is right next door. |- There are multiple dining options in walking distance. |- The hop-on/hop off bus has a stop right in front of the guest house. |- Helen and Dave have a big, friendly dog, but my friend is allergic to dogs so Helen made sure the dog was not around when we were to ensure we did not transfer any allergens to my pal -- very thoughtful!||Room rate was VERY reasonable for the area and time of year. We had initially selected a room without ocean view figuring we would not be there much but our friends had scoped out the options and advised us to upgrade -- which we did and were DELIGHTED. The very slight price differential was well worth it! || Bottom line: A great location, lovely room and wonderful hospitality. THANK YOU!
