We recently stayed at the Pitlessie Inn and were impressed with the quality of the rooms. The bed was very comfortable, the space was generous, and everything was spotless—a great place to relax.

However, breakfast left much to be desired. The pricing was confusing: we were told breakfast was included, only to later find out that egg dishes cost extra, while a full Scottish breakfast did not. It makes no sense and feels misleading. On top of that, the breakfast server made an odd, sarcastic comment when we ordered, asking if we were hungry today—something I doubt would be said to a man. It came off as unprofessional and unnecessary. The girls serving at the bar however were very welcoming and friendly.

The breakfast room was uncomfortably cold, as were the plates, which didn’t help the overall experience. That said, the omelette itself was quite good.

Overall, a great stay in terms of accommodation, but breakfast service and pricing policies need improvement.
Edit - upon questioning the breakfast pricing and receiving a very unprofessional response, I have changed my rating for service.

Visited here for Mother’s Day and it was great! Delicious food and very friendly staff who were very attentive and did everything they could to make sure we had a good time. The part of the inn we were seated is very pleasant and had a good atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Lovely meal, in a lovely setting. Really nice atmosphere and staff friendly and polite. Hubby had Haggis starter which he said was the star of the meal. We felt meal was value for money. Service was good and you didn't feel rushed. Would definitely eat here again.

Have eaten at Pitlessie a couple of times recently. Also in the summer. The food is consistently good, service is good and we have enjoyed each visit. Nice log stove in the bar area where we were eating, cosy atmosphere. Staff are very welcoming.

I ate here on a Saturday evening. The pub had a cozy atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. Not a great selection of real ales. The menu had a varied choice. The food arrived in a reasonable time. The outdoor seating area looked nice for a sunny day.
