Oh dear ..The place was so hard to find in the dark ,phoned owner who didn't understand much English,anyway found in the end ,wish I'd slept in my car .||Smelly when you walk in ( what is that smell ?)||Shared shower YUK carpet grubby.|Room Cold , carpets grubby ,dust every where ,could not sleep because of noise esp loud voices and moaning !.||Not my best choice and tbh won't be yours either. Needs a massive update .||Sorry but have to be honest |||Guess what by 5.30am was in my car in a carpark ..

Hired out plumpton cottage next door to plumpton house for wedding prep for the bridal party, the man running both houses was lovely and we really enjoyed our nights at the plumpton cottage. Will definitely be back. Was great for value and got some lovely shots for our wedding video.

Booked a twin room several weeks prior to our arrival and followed up with an email stipulating our request for a twin room, which was acknowledged and agreed by the owner. On arrival ( long drive from Shropshire) we were informed our room had been given to someone else! Offered us a room with a super king sized bed which only had a thin king sized sheet on it and a very thin throw on top! Room smelt of stale tobacco and no on-suite, loo at the end of the hall and shower upstairs. Owner refunded us and we found better accommodation elsewhere. Very disappointed.

Had a lovely stay here recently. The setting is beautiful and the room was large and airy. Bed was comfy, and the service efficient. Great value for money very much enjoyed ourselves, thank you! It was probably the nicest view from a hotel I've had before.

I’ve stayed in a lot of different places over the years but this one has certainly left a great impression. Beautiful views, spacious rooms and very friendly staff.

Arrived on a very hot day. Windows were locked. No fire doors. Had to pay up front before we even saw our rooms. No fan. No chilled water. Shared bathroom had no hand towels. No toilet roll holder. Didn’t make it to staying the night as it was like being in a torture chamber.

Most dirtiest, coldest, unwelcoming place I've ever stayed in down South.

Owner said she can only put radiator on for an hour and no more.

It was freezing. Shower didn't work either.

Carpet was wet and stained my socks

My wife cried as we drove 5 hrs fro. Manchester to get there. And I got blamed cos I chose it. I'm guilty of that.

The next day we left and booked into proper place.

This was a last minute late night pitstop on a work trip and I was really pleasantly supervised by how lovely the place was for a very bargain price!||||Classically proportioned 18th century English farmhouse with huge simple but elegant rooms. Lovely and quiet as well as convenient||||Wifi worked fine for me, and plug sockets easily reached behind the bed. ||||Breakfast was buffet style including cooked breakfast. A good range, and I liked the toaster at each table. It would have been good to have a note asking people to sanitise their hands on entry to the breakfast room for Covid reasons, especially with lifting the lid of the bain marie.||||Otherwise all was simple, easy and relaxed. Wish I had stayed longer!
