Absolutely loved my stay here. Can not praise the staff enough,nothing is ever to much trouble,every member of staff was polite,very kind and extremely well mannered. The hotel itself is beautiful,cleaned to a very high standard and just so welcoming. Our room was amazing with everything we needed,plenty of lightning,warm and again very clean. The bathroom was a bonus with a large bath and independent shower cube,water was lovely and warm too. The restaurant is lovely as well. Can actually stay all day because there is food served right up till 10pm I think,so if you want a relaxing day from shopping in Chelmsford or London this place is ideal. They serve afternoon tea as well. Over all a very relaxing 4 days. Will definitely be back

We took our mum away for her 80th birthday and had the most amazing time. The staff were amazing, so helpful and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was a great size for a family of 4 and extremely clean and comfortable. The dinner was fabulous with more than enough choice for kids and adults alike and the breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious. Would stay here again in a heartbeat and would definitely recommend. 5 stars for me and for the kids!

A wonderful experience led by Lisa and her superb team. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We treated ourselves to an overnight stay. The room was of an excellent standard with a very comfortable bed. The menu we selected was delicious with great attention to detail by chef Craig. The front of house staff were discreetly attentive. A wonderful experience for ourselves and our guests. We will be returning for all future celebrations.

We used to be regulars at this hotel enjoying facilities including spa. So much is good about it, nice staff etc, but we don’t go anymore since this: we booked dinner at the restaurant then decided to stay at the spa and have a meal there instead. Management then charged us a hefty sum for not turning up at the restaurant, even though we had a meal in another part of the complex. Unexpected aggressive move on what was supposed to be a relaxing trip, not cool. Left a nasty feeling, particularly as we were there quite a bit. Plenty of other hotels!

We went for a one night break as a spontaneous trip for myself and the wife , all I can say is perfection in every way ! The room was amazing ( the bridal suite) the bed was enormous and comfortable the bathroom was amazing with a massive roll top bath and additional a rain fall shower , |We ate at the restaurant and all I can say is wow! The food was some of the best I have ever tasted , especially the desserts! We had one of the best nights of relaxing that we still talk about to this day , definitely worth every penny

Today I had the most magical time with my friends and family at Pontlands Park hotel. From arrival to departure staff were attentive, discreet and nothing was too much - we’ve been really spoilt. My friends said that they had the best scones of their life (so fluffy and not heavy) and the cakes and sandwiches were also very good. We also loved the tea sets and the room, thank you so much for an amazing day again.

I took my children away for an overnight stay as a treat. They love swimming, so a pool is essential when we travel. As advertised, the hotel listed a small leisure centre. Unfortunately, the pool had very limited times hotel guests could use. I was hoping for a morning swim with the children, but this was not available due to external bookings. |The welcome, room and breakfast were very good, no complaints. |There is also a nice pub around a miles walk down into the village where we went for dinner. |If you are planning a trip with children who have their heart set on spending time in the pool, I recommend another hotel. The website where I booked from and the hotel site was not explicit in pool times; the response from the management disputed this.

Plenty of parking, easy check in. Room was fine as was breakfast. Dinner and snacks were good. Staff pleasant. Nice fluffy towels. The only snag was that the duvet wasn't as wide as the bed. There is a health club attached with a small gym and pool.
