We spent the first two nights of our trip through Kent and Sussex here, and it was the perfect way to begin our holiday. Sue and Lou were wonderful hosts—attentive, friendly, and welcoming. The location is idyllic, nestled in the countryside and wonderfully peaceful. We particularly enjoyed our first evening, with a lovely walk to the Rose and Crown in Hartlip, which was the perfect way to unwind after our long journey to Kent. The accommodation was spot-on, with everything we needed in the room. But the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the breakfasts—a splendid full English, complemented by a selection of homemade jams and fresh fruit from the garden. We couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Really friendly, helpful and accommodating, Sue and Lou were fantastic hosts. Highly recommend Pope Cottage too, a very nicely appointed house in a quaint rural setting. I have some very "out of the ordinary" requirements and nothing was too much trouble. Absolutely perfect short stay for a couple of nights. Many thanks

We booked Pope Cottage as we were attending a Wedding nearby at Oak Grove. From the minute I spoke with Sue on booking I knew that we had made a great choice. Sue and Lou the Hosts at Pope Cottage are the loveliest couple who made our 2 night stay so enjoyable, and we felt right at home. The room we were given overlooked their amazing garden and patio area and had everything in it that we needed. Breakfast was outstanding, fresh fruit, cereals, full English etc and we also got to sample Lou's homemade Apricot jam which was delicious. We will definitely be returning before the end of this year, and would highly recommend Pope Cottage to anyone who requires accommodation in the area. Sue and Lou, we will be back, love Jayne and Mark (Liverpool}.

From the minute I spoke to the owner Sue to book our stay I knew would it be good and we certainly were not disappointed. Everything was perfect and Sue and Lou made us so very welcome and at home and nothing was too much trouble. Our en-suite room overlooked their beautiful garden and was spotlessly clean and well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities. The beautifully presented breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt and home made preserves and a fantastic full English breakfast. Sadly we only booked for one night as we were in the area for a wedding at The Oak Grove but would love to return for another stay sometime. ||Sue and Lou are perfect hosts who run a superb B and B with so much attention to detail in fact it was the best we’ve ever stayed in.

My daughter and I recently spent two nights here during our visit to England from the US. Sue and Lou were the perfect hosts, and the accommodations were spotlessly clean. We really enjoyed relaxing in their beautiful garden, and the full English breakfast we were served was fantastic. Our stay here was one of the highlights of our trip. We came to stay at Pope Cottage as guests, and left as friends. I certainly hope to stay here again on my next visit to the UK.

From the moment I made the booking I knew it was going to be a super stay and it certainly exceeded all our expectations.
Sue and Lou were wonderful hosts and made us feel so welcome it was just like staying with friends. Everything was so very lovely in fact lovely just doesn’t cover it as it was all so perfect spotlessly clean everywhere and beautifully appointed. There was nothing at all that wasn’t good and they excelled with it all and the attention to detail was incredible.
The breakfast was so delicious just wish we could have picked up some sausages to take home as they were particularly good. Loved the potato and I believe spinach patty and the bacon was also scrummy but I’m sure the secret was it was cooked so beautifully to perfection and not at all oily or greasy.
All in all it was super to meet such a warm and friendly couple who made us so very welcome in their beautiful home and garden. Such a shame we couldn’t spend more time in the garden you obviously work very hard Lou to keep it looking so inviting. Do hope we can return to Pope Cottage soon and share some more time and space there with two super people

Found this gem of a bed and breakfast on the internet,had a three night stay whilst visiting family in the medway towns.The hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating,accomodation was perfect,warm,comfortable, clean and for me the vegetarian choices for breakfast were perfect. Would have absolutely no hesitation with staying at Pope cottage again.Thanks Sue and Lou,hope to see you in the not to distant future

Fantastic hosts, especially Sue and her very friendly nature and welcome. Twinned with the best breakfast we had in our 10 days walking around Kent, this made for a superb stay. The rooms were clean, well-stocked, tidy and Sue went out of her way to provide extra little details. Thank you
