Well appointed, clean and comfortable rooms. One of the two rooms we booked didn't have a working AC so it was a bit warm. Check this if you need to stay more than one night.The only downside was lots of corridor noise in the morning if you wanted to sleep in & used plates left out in the corridor despite housekeeping checking rooms for laundry. Superbly cooked breakfast is a must, lots to choose from and relished regularly. Evening meals were going as well. The test though is: "Would you bring your wife here for the weekend?" - Yes is the answer, she would love it.

Friendly staff, very comfortable bed, spacious room, thick walls, clean room and bedsheets
The young man working behind the bar was very prompt, helpful and friendly. The manager was very accommodating and tolerant of young kids.
Great for place for family get-together. Dog friendly and walking distance to major shops.

Lovely hotel, which was easy to find on the outskirts of Portsmouth. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious with tea and coffee available. Easy to control room temperature 🌡 😌. Need was comfortable although duvet was light and could have been warmer.
The bathroom was spacious with nice toiletries supplied.
Was visiting for a Christmas dinner in one of the larger function rooms, which was nicely laid out.
The bar in the main foyer area of the hotel was very poorly staffed considering there was a large function booked, which is a shame as the long wait for drinks was frustrating.
The main course was lovely, but the berry cheesecake and chocolate brownies were tasteless.
Staff throughout were great, friendly, and accommodating.
Check out was smooth. This hotel is only a short drive to Gun Wharf shopping centre, which was an added bonus.

The praiseworthy: well appointed, clean and comfortable room. Desk and breakfast service friendly and efficient. Hotel quiet, easy to find, ample parking. Lifts are prompt, that is always a plus.||Not so good: ||Located in anonymous area with few facilities close by and not pedestrian friendly. ||Few footpaths at the hotel, not even a pathway to the street. Marriott needs to fix this - it’s the 21st century.||The exit area is scruffy.||The restaurant with its industrial roof and glass gables gives the impression of dining in a garden centre or DIY shed, with some signs of wear - see image. The hot breakfast options were really poor. Lowest grade tomatoes, barely ripe or cooked; tinned mushrooms, lifeless bacon. Premier Inn next door would have offered better. Unappetising and not four star.||My room looked over the corrugated ‘tin’ roof. Tea and coffee supplies were not replenished. Bed sloppily made up on final day. ||As an experienced traveller, this was not overall a four star experience.

Nice hotel but terrible service. During a business trip, they tried to double charge me two times for a dinner bill. I paid directly at the bar and they were asking me to pay again during the checkout. Thank God that I had the printed dinner invoices. Also despite the fact that I declared my car license number for the parking hotel during check in, I received parking fine from the local authorities. There after I realized that similar things to other work colleagues that used Marriott hotels in other UK cities.

This hotel is nice and modern, clean, plenty of parking, however a little away from the centre of Portsmouth, so either take a car, or be happy with taxiing about. It was an all too brief overnight stay for us, but the room was up to date, quiet, climate control both working well and quiet and a good nights sleep was had. In particular, the room had a fridge which was handy for storing medicine. Breakfast was good, a good range of items, and may I thank the hotel for the clear labelling of allergens on the breakfast items. Wish more hotels did this so clearly. If you park in the car park be sure to enter your reg number into the parking system at front desk. I didn't get time to visit the Bar or the restaurant, so can't comment on those. Maybe next time!

Overall hotel is nice. Good location and carpark. Room was a good size and we were surprised to find the bathroom had underfloor heating. Staff are very polite and professional, housekeeping seems really on it too. Corridors are kept free of clutter.

The restaurant is disappointing as the food is bland and the service is so slow even when they're not busy yet staff hover around and won't give you a chance to eat much before attempting to take the plate away. It was the same experience during breakfast.

Other than that, I would definitely use this hotel were I to visit Portsmouth again.

Cannot fault the staff or the rooms. We stayed on the night of our wedding and they were so accommodating when I asked if I could check in early to prepare and get ready for the wedding. Room service was fab and fast as I didn't want to go to the restaurant.
