Great cottage for a small holiday!

First the good stuff:
- It's a very charming cottage, full of history. Even has a usable chimney for evenings by the fire or boost the heating.
- It's very comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen (including basic supplies, which was much appreciated) and a very modern bathroom.
- It's very well located, only a 10 minute drive from Corfe Castle and Swanage.
- The hosts are very friendly, accommodating, responsive, and will do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

The things to be aware of (not really issues as long as you're aware of them):
- In spite of the name, this isn't a B&B anymore, it's only self-catering.
- It's quite low ceiling in several parts of the house, so if you're 180+ cm you'll spend a lot of time bending and watching your head.
- There is street parking in front of the cottage, BUT it's only for 30 minutes during the day (so just enough to load/unload the car or drop someone) -- free from 6pm. The (free) car park is a 5 minutes walk uphill. So I would often have to drop my pregnant wife and my son at the cottage, then drive back to the car park, and walk home. Not a huge deal, but good to know.
- There are three bedrooms, but access to one is through another one. Also only one shower and one loo for everyone to share so if you're a group, something to consider.

Overall, this was a great stay and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a bit of peace while discovering the beauties of Dorset.

A lovely cosy cottage with everything and much more than you would expect from this stay. We chose this location as walking distance from Square & Compass. |All the amenities were well provided for. Even the 40" Samsung TV was backed up with quality Denon receiver + Wharfedale sound system! The shower & kitchen were excellently fitted out.|Nothing was missing that we would have expected, in fact a lot more was included. |The owners live next door if needed .|Next door is a bakery shop with delicious home cooked produce which we bought.|A really nice stay, that we would certainly consider again in the future.

Arguably one of the finest short stay self catering or B&B facilities in Dorset. Tim & Ali the owners and host are exceptionally welcoming, informative and generous with both their hospitality and natural enthusiasm, as they cater your individual needs. Nothing is too much trouble and their local knowledge ensures you do not miss an opportunity to enjoy the isle of Purbeck. Always worth booking well in advance to avoid disappointment and a must if staying in this beautiful part of Dorset.

This really was one of the best places we stayed on a recent extended walking trip. The accommodation is very comfortable (although the stairs up to the bedroom are a little tight), with a lounge/dining area, a separate kitchen and bathroom downstairs. ||The owners couldn’t have been more friendly/accommodating/helpful, preparing a really fantastic evening meal for us and an excellent breakfast. ||I would highly recommend a stay

Ali was very welcoming after arriving from a long day of walking from Swanage. The bedroom, bathroom/shower room and living area were immaculate and the bed comfortable. Great selection of books if you fancy a good read. Enjoyed too watching the rugby by the warmth of the wood burner. Lovely views of the neighbouring cottages and very peaceful. Breakfast was very good highlighted also by a very tasty home made marmalade. I couldn’t recommend this well run and charming B&B more highly.

Excellent location for Coast walking. The cottages is lively and Tim and Ali are great hosts. We stayed for two nights and planning to go back next year ( unforseen circumstances mean we couldn't complete the coast walk plan so will be back) nice and quite village but easy reach for surrounding areas.

We stayed for two nights (b and b) in this wonderful village property. Everything was perfect and the breakfast was fabulous. The attention to detail is superb and Tim and Ali were lovely hosts - nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend to anyone! The surrounding area is beautiful and you can walk and explore for hours in one of the most beautiful places in UK. The cottage was warm and cosy with plenty of space and spotlessly clean. The bed was the most comfortable we have slept in (and I’m cabin crew so regularly stay in hotels around the world!). The hosts were warm and welcoming (despite us having to keep our distance with the current Coronavirus worry) they kept out of the way whilst still being warm and welcoming and were on hand to assist us with dinner plans, especially as pubs and restaurants had closed that evening due to the outbreak! In the evening they lit the fire for us and left out plates and cutlery for our take away. As we were celebrating my birthday my mum had previously been in contact to ask if a few surprises could be left for me and we arrived to some champagne and bespoke chocolates which the owners had gone out to collect. Full English breakfast (and more) was delicious the next morning ! |My birthday was made even more special when my partner proposed to me nearby at the local chapel as we walked by the sea. We will certainly be back, maybe even for the wedding(!) and for many years to come. |Thank you
