We had a wonderful break. Everything was excellent. Friends had recommended this resort to us and it was everything they had enthused about - and more!||All areas were comfortable and spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and very helpful at all times. The food and drinks were delicious with so much choice.||We enjoyed taking part in the many activities available during the day and were thrilled with the top class entertainment each evening. ||The bedrooms were luxurious and the beds were huge and very comfortable. ||We will definitely return.

Having been to Hopton several times with and without family, for my birthday last weekend my partner took me to Five Lakes. We paid for a hotel deluxe plus room. First our key cards did not work, then when we sorted that, we looked around our room in total horror. This was not in our opinion a deluxe plus room, it was more like a cheap premier inn room. Then we tried the water which was luke warm even after running tap for 10 mins.. complained to reception who came up to check, and after a bit it came through hot. I saw the chef because I am dairy intolerant as I had stated when we first booked. There was a very limited menu that I could eat, and unlike at Hopton, no effort was made to sort out alternatives. At dinner time, the food ,at best, was luke warm and the actual service was very poor. When we saw the restaurant manager on the Sunday lunchtime, she agreed that it was unacceptable. She actually served us herself at dinner and that was excellent, best food I had since being there, and she had managed to get me a dairy free dessert. The shows in the evening were good, but overall experience was bad. Will be going back to Hopton in future, where we know we get what we pay for.

It was my first visit to a potters resort. I was recommended by a family member. |I visited with my mum and two friends. |From the moment we arrived we were well taken care of. We stayed in the village with a little patio area to sit and relax. The room was very good with a comfortable bed. |It was just a few minutes walk to the main hotel. No more than 3. |The shows were really good. The food in the restaurant was first class. Lots of activities during the day. |We could not find any faults with potters and will definitely visit again.

After visiting Warners Sites over a number of years we have, unfortunately, seen a slow deterioration in the overall “Warners Experience”. This seems to have accelerated since the takeover by Blackstones. On our last visit this year we had cause to complain about the state of the pathways around the site. A chap went over on his mobility scooter after hitting a pothole. Another person had also fallen. This affected us directly as on our last day I had a fall whilst using my 4 wheel Walker when taking the case to the car. Luckily the case saved me from a bad injury as I went straight over the walker and landed on my case.|Following this and several recommendations from friends we decided to try Potters Five Lakes near Maldon, Essex.|The overall experience was absolutely fantastic and exceeded our expectations in every area. The room was superb (we were in the main hotel). Everywhere was spotlessly presented and of very high quality.|The quality and choice of food was excellent. (As I have mobility problems your could choose to have waiter service to your table in addition to serving yourself if you chose to - Warners is now basically serve yourself from the buffet style set up.)|Although I’m quite restricted in what I can do there is a multitude of activities offered. The Rally Karts was a particularly fun thing to take part in.|There are a wide range of activities offered that cater for every level of fitness and one of the problems is trying to decide which ones to leave out.|There’s an abundance of staff who are there to help and assist you and generally make your stay totally enjoyable.|(As an aside I particularly liked the Gluten Free Muesli on offer at breakfast. I asked at reception for the details of it and the receptionist rang through to the kitchen and got the details which she printed off for us. We were surprised a little while later when the receptionist tracked us down and presented us with a 1kg bag of the Muesli and a small card.) We did not expect that level of service but is an illustration of the efforts the staff put in to making your stay a great experience.|So it’ll be Potters from now with an element of sadness after some really nice holidays with Warners.

Our 7th stay at Potters all in all a great place to have a break, we had 7 days recently I don't think we could have lasted 8 days of the "all inclusive ". Plenty to eat and drink.
Nightly entertainment shows even better than before. A nice clean room and great friendly service. We will certainly stay here again very soon.
The only real minus points ;
No working EV charging point.
Our room was warm and the window
wouldn't stay open.
Music a little load in the Garden Bar.

Don't go if you are disabled. Especially if you are disabled but need a king size bed. You can have an accessible room or a king size bed - not both. |The supposedly accessible shower had a step, which was fine, but no grabrails inside the shower and a dangerously unsafe stool. So if you fall over don't expect to get up again.|The pool is inaccessible if you use a wheelchair or can't do stairs. There are steps down and then up for showers. I went in in my wheelchair through an outside door but didn't feel it was fair to those with bare feet as my wheelchair has obviously been outside. It is a legal requirement for a pool to be available to all.||I managed a shower on my third day as the stool eventually got replaced with a safe one.||I discussed all our requirements when booking but because we were offered a disabled room with a double bed it was apparently my fault I can't do a double so tough!||Activities were a good way away from the main building and no good for a chair if poor weather as you'll sink in the grass!||Staff were lovely, entertainment was great and food was fair but the holiday was ruined for me due to very poor disability awareness.||The company has been at Five Lakes for three years. Plenty of time to address some disability issues. Had a call back from Potters totally denying any wrongdoing and offering half of the bonus (£80) as compensation. ||Shame on you Potters. We won't be returning. Back to Warners where they have disability awareness.

Absolutely,a perfect mid week break.All the staff were very helpful and the accommodation (Village) was perfect and clean.Activities were great.We will certainly be back.By the way the food was outstanding with plenty of choice’s! Although there was an open to All bowls tournament at the time of our stay which took up three of the five rinks we still managed a game every day.
